Revelations 12:11 says, “And they overcame him (1) by the blood of the Lamb, and (2) by the Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
This Scripture describes how believers triumph over Satan (the accuser) through three means: 1) the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ (the Lamb), 2) the word of their testimony (proclaiming their faith), and a willingness to sacrifice their lives rather than surrender their faith.
The key components of Revelation 12:11 are as follows:
1. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…” This refers to the redemption and victory over sin and Satan provided by Jesus’ sacrifice.
2. “…and by the word of their testimony…” This represents the believer’s open confession, and proclaiming their faith in Christ and the Gospel.
3. “And they loved not their lives unto the death.” This highlights total commitment, indicating thatb they did not fear death, and were willing to die rather than renounce their faith.
What is so special about the blood of Jesus? “The life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). Therefore, the very life of God is contained in the blood of Jesus Christ. This is why the power in the blood of Jesus Christ can never be equaled.
To experience this power that is in the blood of Jesus Christ, you must: 1) Know about it, 2) Believe it, 3) Appropriate the blood of Jesus in your everyday life, and 4) Expect the required miracle as a result of the power in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Know what? You have to know the truth about the life, grace and power in the blood of Jesus. You have to know what the blood of Jesus Christ has accomplished for us.
Believe what? You need to believe everything that God has said in His Word about the blood of Jesus. Do you believe that the blood of Jesus has accomplished for you what God said it has?
Appropriate what? To appropriate something means to take that thing for your own use. You must learn how to use the blood of Jesus in your everyday life. The blood of Jesus will work for you when you appropriate it personally.
How can I appropriate the blood of Jesus? For instance, you say, “I believe I receive divine health, restful sleep, peace, long life, deliverance, financial overflow through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.”
I believe that by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed right now through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.”
I believe that I have all my needs met today through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.”
I believe I receive my children saved and serving God in righteousness and true holiness through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
I believe I receive promotion, open doors through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
I believe I receive a raise through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.”
Beloved, if you take away the blood of Jesus, you will receive nothing from God. But when you bring in the blood of Jesus, God will be quick to answer your prayer because God will always honour the blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. You are just a recipient of the favour that comes with the honour.
Expect what? You should expect your miracle, healing, protection, unlimited breakthrough, promotion, upliftment etc. Expect whatever God promised in His Word that the blood of Jesus will do for us.
