WALKING IN DOMINION OVER POVERTY!

One major reason why many Born-Again believers are living a life of poverty in the hand of the devil today is because they do not know their rights and privileges in Christ.  They fail to realize their exalted position in Christ.  From the Scriptures we discover that every Born-Again believer is ordained to walk in dominion even over poverty.

So, today we are going to look atWALKING IN DOMINION OVER POVERTY(Gen. 1:26-28). This is true: We thank God for your unequalled efforts. We thank God for precious sweats. But efforts and sweat will never deliver what blessing will deliver. We thank God for your expertise. We thank God for your skill. But expertise and skill will never deliver what blessing will deliver.

The giving grace is the gateway to the realm of financial dominion (2 Cor. 8:7). How much of that grace is working in your life determines the level or realm of financial dominion you can operate in.

In Proverbs 11:24 God said, There is (one) that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is (one) that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

In Proverbs 11:25 God said, The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”

In God’s prosperity plan you cannot pray your way through to prosperity. It has no respect for prayer and fasting. God’s plan is not a promise. It is a covenant.

So, until you play your own part, God is not committed to prospering you. This covenant is defined as the seedtime and harvest covenant (Gen. 8:22). You are not entitled to have the material blessings without your material seed.

God said,While the earth remaineth (as long as this earth remains), seedtime and harvest, …day and night shall not cease(Gen. 8:22).

This covenant is totally reliable.  In Jeremiah 33:20-21 God said, If ye can break My covenant of the day, and My covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; 21 Then may also My covenant be broken with David My servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, My ministers.”

God’s covenant with the saints is tied to the covenant with the day and the night. This covenant is completely reliable. When the day ceases, then life ceases. The plants will require the day to survive because of the light for photosynthesis. They will require the night for dark reactions. So, whatsoever cannot stop the covenant of the day and the night can never stop His covenant with the saints.

This is not a church doctrine, but a covenant. As long as the earth remains, this covenant will remain in force. It is the Father’s covenant with His children.

In Deuteronomy 8:18 God said,…for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His COVENANT which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

We are empowered for wealth on the basis of His covenant. Connecting to this covenant is the only way to be empowered for wealth, and dominion over poverty. No matter what, His covenant remains in force (Ps. 89:34; Isa. 55:11).

It does not matter where you live in this world, wherever the sun shines the covenant works. Therefore, engage with the practice of the covenant, and leave the rest for God.

How then can one walk in dominion over poverty?

1. Be Born Again: Every blessing in the Kingdom of God can only flow to us when we are saved. The salvation of our souls is the access key to the realm of financial dominion (3 John 2).

2. Giving is the biblical gateway to financial dominion (Acts 20: 35; Lk. 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6-8; Gen. 8:20-22, 2 Cor. 9:6-8; Phil. 4:15-19). God Himself showed us example by giving (Jn. 3:16).

That is why we must not see our giving and offerings as financial donations to the church, but as spiritual transactions for provoking divine supplies (2 Cor. 9: 6-8,11; Phil. 4:19).

There are two categories of giving: 1) Fixed Offering. This is specified and fixed, 2) Freewill (or voluntary) Offering (Ps. 54:6a, NLT). This is so called because there is no fixed amount.

Under fixed Offerings we have: 1) Firstfruit (Prov. 3:9-10) – this is actually ALL of your January income, 2) Tithes (Gen. 14:20; Gen. 28:20-22; Mal. 3:8-12) – this is one tenth of your gross income.

Tithing: Tithe is a demonstration of your commitment to God. It is the giving of 10 percent of the totality of your earnings to God (Mal. 3:10-12).

If you don’t tithe you are not qualified to prosper. Your tithe is your covenant connector. It is your tithe that connects you to the covenant of prosperity. Every person that does not tithe experiences a closed heaven (Deut. 28:13).

Under the Offerings we have: 1. Freewill offerings. Freewill offering is an offering you give out of your own will.  This involves coming before God with something to appreciate Him for His good hand upon your life (Deut. 16:16-17). If God has blessed you, then you ought to appreciate Him by giving Him not an anyhow offering but by giving Him something significant, and precious to you.

2. Kingdom Promotion, Kingdom Investment or Project Offering (Matt. 6:33; Ex. 35:21-22, 29; Ex. 36:2-3, 6-7, Hag. 1:3-14). This is giving for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God. Whatever you invest in the Kingdom of God can never be destroyed, because it is there in heaven where no thief can touch it. It is eternally secure (Ex. 36:2-3).

3. Seed Faith. Seed faith is a seed you sow to release your faith concerning a particular thing you want the Lord to do for you (Gen. 2:21-22; Matt. 17:20; Gen. 18). Your seed confirms what you believe God for.

4. A vow offering (2 Sam. 15:7-8). A vow offering is given in fulfillment of a vow you made to the LORD.

5. Worship Offering: We are instructed not to come into God’s presence empty-handed (Deut. 16:16-17; Ex. 34:20).

6. Fellowship Offering (Lev. 3:1-6). 2 Corinthians 8:3-4 says, “the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.”

7. Giving to Biological Parents: The Word of God instructs us to honour our parents in the Lord, that it might be well with us; financial blessing inclusive (Eph. 6:1-3). When you do, you provoke the release of blessings from their hearts like Isaac poured his heart out to bless Jacob (Gen. 27:3, 25-29; Ex. 20:12).

8. Thanksgiving Offering (Ps. 107). This is appropriate whenever you want to give thanks to God for His many many blessings in your life. For instance, when you recover from a serious illness, or survive a dangerous calamity.

9. Giving to the prophet of God – Prophet’s Offering (Phil. 4:18-19). Paul was saying to the Philippians that because of what they have given to him as a prophet of God, his God shall supply ALL their needs according to His (unlimited) riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

10. Welfare or Giving to the poor (needy). Proverbs 14:31 says, “…Whoso is kind to the poor honoureth the Lord.” Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble(Ps. 41:1).

The Bible talking about Cornelius said, He was a devout man who feared the God of Israel, as did his entire household. He gave generously to those in need” (Acts 10:2).

As a child of God, you have every right to use this power to enforce your authority over the spirit of poverty.
