THE LAW OF FAITH!

Today we want to look at another aspect of faith – “THE LAW OF FAITH!” Romans 3:27 says, “Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by THE LAW OF FAITH.”

NLT puts it this way, “Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.”

What is Law? Law is the principle set out in the Bible, especially from the Pentateuch, said to be the divine will.

2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “While we look not at (1) the things which are seen, but at (2) the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Anything that is seen won’t last. It has an end. It has an expiring date. But whatever is not seen will last forever.

In the universe, we have the seen realm and the unseen realm. The seen realm is called the physical realm. The unseen realm is called the spiritual or supernatural realm.

The natural human faith is the faith that operates in the seen or physical realm. The supernatural faith is the faith that operates in the unseen or spirit realm.

Faith is the law that operates in the unseen realm.

The seen realm is governed by the laws of nature – the law of gravity, etc. This is the realm where the senses operate.

The unseen or spirit realm is governed by the law of faith or the fourth dimension. This is the realm where the supernatural faith operates.

Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to (1) glory and (2) virtue (power).”

Realize that the unseen realm gave birth to the seen realm. That is to say that the spirit realm gave birth to the physical realm.

Every law that operates in the physical or seen realm is superseded by the law that operates in the spirit or unseen realm. The very Law that operates in the unseen realm is called the Law of faith or the 4th dimension.

How does the Law of Faith operate?

a)       The 4th Dimension demands that you see – have a picture of what you want.

Jeremiah 1:11-12 says, “Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. 12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten My Word to perform it.”

In Genesis 13:14-17 the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”

When you see, you can have a mental picture of what you want from the LORD. When you see you can conceive and whatever is conceivable is achievable. That which you have conceived is what you will give birth to.

For you to see well, you must meditate on the Word of God [the promise of God concerning your situation] for so long until the picture is correctly formed in your mind (Eph. 3:20; Josh. 1:8; Ps. 1:1-3)

b)       The 4th dimension demands that you call that picture which you have formed in your mind into manifestation in the seen realm. This you do by calling those things that be not as though they were.

In Romans 4:17-21 the Bible says, “…even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were...”

“…..and calleth the things that are not, as though they were” (ASV).

“…..and whose command brings into being what did not exist(GNB).

Generally God operates by applying the 4th dimension. He operates by the supernatural faith, a faith that never fails; a faith that SPEAKS and it comes to pass! That is the faith God used in creating the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1-3; Heb. 1:3).

In Genesis 1:3 God applied the 4th dimension. Genesis 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.  2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

In Genesis 1:6, 9,11, 14, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 and 29 God applying the 4th dimension always said, “Let there be…...”

And in Genesis 1:31 God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.

Every Word that God spoke during the creation came to pass because He spoke them in faith. He knew that whatever He said must come to pass (Isa. 14:27; Isa. 55:11; Jer. 1:12; Num. 23:19). That’s supernatural faith! Isaiah 14:27 says, “God has spoken – who can change His plans?”

God created all things by calling those things that be not as though they were. In order words, God calls into manifestation things that are not, and they come to replace what is already there (Rom. 4:17).

For instance:

·     Darkness was there. And God called light into being. Light manifested and replaced the darkness that has been there (Gen. 1:1-3).
·         Sickness is there. And you call healing into being. It manifests and replaces the sickness that has been there (Mk. 5:25-34).

In John 5:8 Jesus said to the man that has been paralysed for 38 years,Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” Immediately he took up his bed, and walked (Jn. 5:9).
 ·         Poverty is there. And you call prosperity into being. It manifests and replaces the poverty that has been there (2 Ki. 4).
·         Death is there. And you call life into being. It manifests and replaces the death that has been there (Jn. 11; Lk. 7:11-15).
·         Failure is there. And you call success into being. It manifests and replaces the failure that has been there.
·         Sorrow is there. And you call joy into being. It manifests and replaces the sorrow that has been there Luke 7:11-15; the woman of Nain).
·         Weeping is there. And you call joyful dancing into being. It manifests and replaces the weeping.

Psalm 30:5 says, “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Example of some people that walked in the 4th dimension abound in the Scriptures:

  1. Jesus Himself also demonstrated the 4th dimension in Mark 11:23. In Mark 11:12 He was hungry and wanted to eat some fruit. But because He saw no fruit on that tree, He said to the tree, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever” (Mk. 11:14).

His disciples heard Him when He cursed the tree. After Jesus cursed the tree, it looked the same as it was before He spoke to it. But 24 hours later, His disciples observed that the fig tree had dried up from the roots.

This suggests that when Jesus spoke to the tree, it died immediately from the roots. The roots were in the ground so no one could immediately tell that anything had happened to the tree. Though the tree looked the same, as before Jesus spoke to it, the tree was already dead from the root. Its source of life had been cut off.

Seeing that the tree had withered away, the disciples were amazed. Then Peter said, “Master, look! The tree you cursed has withered away.” Then Jesus said, “Have the faith of God,” or “Have ‘God-kind’ of faith – the supernatural faith.” He wanted His disciples to know that with this kind of faith, they could do anything; they could move mountains.

Just like Jesus when He spoke to the fig tree, each time you release words of faith, each time you speak forth what God has said in His Word concerning any situation, whether you see any change immediately or not wouldn’t make any difference. In your spirit-man, you know that the words you believe and have spoken with your mouth will surely come to pass.

  1. Jacob also applied the 4th dimension.

Genesis 30:31-43 says, “What wages do you want?" Laban asked again. Jacob replied, "Don't give me anything. Just do this one thing, and I'll continue to tend and watch over your flocks. 32 Let me inspect your flocks today and remove all the sheep and goats that are speckled or spotted, along with all the black sheep. Give these to me as my wages. 33 In the future, when you check on the animals you have given me as my wages, you'll see that I have been honest. If you find in my flock any goats without speckles or spots, or any sheep that are not black, you will know that I have stolen them from you."
34 "All right," Laban replied. "It will be as you say." 35 But that very day Laban went out and removed the male goats that were streaked and spotted, all the female goats that were speckled and spotted or had white patches, and all the black sheep. He placed them in the care of his own sons, 36 who took them a three days journey from where Jacob was. Meanwhile, Jacob stayed and cared for the rest of Laban's flock.
37 Then Jacob took some fresh branches from poplar, almond, and plane trees and peeled off strips of bark, making white streaks on them. 38 Then he placed these peeled branches in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, for that was where they mated. 39 And when they mated in front of the white-streaked branches, they gave birth to young that were streaked, speckled, and spotted. 40 Jacob separated those lambs from Laban's flock. And at mating time he turned the flock to face Laban's animals that were streaked or black. This is how he built his own flock instead of increasing Laban's.
41 Whenever the stronger females were ready to mate, Jacob would place the peeled branches in the watering troughs in front of them. Then they would mate in front of the branches. 42 But he didn't do this with the weaker ones, so the weaker lambs belonged to Laban, and the stronger ones were Jacob's. 43 As a result, Jacob became very wealthy, with large flocks of sheep and goats, male and female servants, and many camels and donkeys.”

As children of God we ought to do what our Father did – walking in the 4th dimension. I therefore, challenge you to apply the Law of Faith to your personal situation today and it will work for you because God is not a respecter of persons.

Therefore, if you want that reproach in your life to be permanently rolled away right now, you must choose to call those things that be not as though they were.

Dare call those things that be not as though they were.

Look at your empty plot of land and call structures to come on it. Look at that empty land and call it an oil field. Look at your bank account that is in red and call it to be full of US dollars.

Watch out for the next edition of Good news from the Pulpit!
