THE GOD OF WONDERS! (2)

Today, we are continuing our discussions on “THE GOD OF WONDERS.”

Daniel 6:25-27 says, “Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. 26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end.  27 He (a) delivereth and (b) rescueth, and (c) HE WORKETH SIGNS AND WONDERS (1) in heaven and (2) in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Here is the truth: the storms of life come to everybody. They may come in the form of sickness, financial difficulty, barrenness, fear, family problems etc.

Realize that it is not these storms of life that defeat you, but your reactions to them.

Listen to the cry of a person in deep trouble: I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me…14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters” (Ps. 69:2, 14).

That could be your situation right now but God said, Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. 20 He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.

Therefore, I decree and declare that that same God that delivered Daniel from the power of the lions will deliver you from the hands of poverty. He will deliver you from the hands of sickness. He will deliver you from the hands of kidnappers. He will deliver you from the hands of fear. He will deliver you from the hands of failure. He will deliver you from the hands of inferiority complex. He will deliver you from the hands of the devil, IJN.

Realize that that problem which is causing you to weep has an end. It is only temporal. Psalm 30:5 says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

That trouble must end one day. Proverbs 23:18 says, “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”

Beloved, the end of that your condition is now. Why? In 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 Jesus said, "…Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the DAY OF SALVATION.”

But for this Scripture to work for you, you must recognize that the only way out of your problem is “the God of Wonders.”

Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Who is the God of wonders? He is the one that does great wonders.  Psalm 77:14 says, “You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate Your awesome power among the nations” (NLT).

Who is the God of wonders? He is the one that is full of wonders. That is why His name is “Wonderful.”

Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called WONDERFUL, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Who is the God of wonders? He is the one that does wonders. Exodus 15:11 says, “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, DOING WONDERS?”

The Bible began with the manifestation of God as the God of wonders. From Genesis to Revelations, God shows Himself as the God of wonders.

  1. In Genesis 1: 1-3 He said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” This is a wonder!
In Hebrews 1:3 the Bible says that He upholds all things by the Word of His power.
  1. In Exodus 4, He spoke to Moses in a burning bush. The bush was burning but was not consumed. This is a wonder!
  2. In Nehemiah 9:9-21 the Bible says, “…God saw the sufferings and sorrows of the children of Israel in Egypt, and heard their cries by the Red Sea. He displayed miracle signs and wonders against Pharaoh, his servants, and all his people, for He knew how arrogantly the Egyptians were treating the children of Israel. God has a glorious reputation that has never been and can never be forgotten. God divided the Red Sea for His people so they could walk through on dry land! And then He hurled their enemies into the depths of the sea. They sank like stones beneath the mighty waters.”
  3. In Exodus 13:21-22, He led the children of Israel by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night so that they could find their way. That is a wonder!
  4. In Exodus 14 God stood as a pillar of fire between the children of Israel and the soldiers of Pharaoh; He showed darkness to the enemy, but light and warmth to His people. That is a wonder!
  5. In Exodus 16:35, God fed the children of Israel for forty years in the wilderness with manna from Heaven. Their shoes and dresses grew as they grew. For forty years God sustained them in the wilderness. They lacked nothing in all that time. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell! He gave the children of Israel bread from heaven when they were hungry and water from the Rock when they were thirsty (Ex 17). He is the Fountain of living water (Jer. 17:13). That is a wonder!
  6. In Numbers 22:28, He made a donkey to talk. That is a wonder!
  7. In 2 Kings 6:5-6, He made the axe-head to swim. That is a wonder!
  8. In Joshua 6, He sank the wall of Jericho as the children of Israel shouted the shout of victory.
  9. In Judges 6, He gave the children of Israel victory over the Midianites through Gideon.
  10. In Exodus 17:8-14 He gave the children of Israel victory over the Amalekites through Moses.

  15. In 1 Chronicles 20, He discomfited the people of Mount Seir, the children of Ammon and the Amalekites by setting ambush between them as the children of Israel praised Him.
  16. In Ezekiel 37, He made the dry bones to live again. That is a wonder!
  17. In Daniel 3, He was the fourth Person in the fiery furnace. He converted the fiery furnace into an air-conditioned apartment. What a wonder!
  18. In Daniel 6, He, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, shut up the mouth of very hungry lions and gave Daniel a good sleep, one of the hungry lions serving as the pillow for Daniel to rest his head.
  19. In Matthew 8:1-3 Jesus cleansed a leper. “When Jesus was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them” (Matt. 8:1-3).
  20. In Matthew 14:26, Jesus walked on water. That is a wonder!
  21. In Mark 1:23-28, Jesus cast out an evil spirit in the synagogue from a man that was possessed by an unclean spirit thereby demonstrating His power over the forces of darkness.
  22. In Mark 1:40-45, He cleansed a leper demonstrating His power over sickness.
  23. In Mark 2:1-12, He healed a man that was paralyzed from neck to toe. What a wonder!

  25. In Mark 5, He healed a woman who has been suffering from an issue of blood since 12 years.
  26. In Mark 5:21-24, 35-43, He raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead demonstrating His power over death.
  27. In Mark 6:53-56, as many sick people as touched the hem of His garment were made whole.
  28. In Mark 7:31-37, He made the deaf and dumb both to hear and speak.
  29. In Mark 11, He cursed a fig tree and the fig tree immediately withered from its roots.
  30. In Luke 1, God made a virgin called Mary to conceive a child without the aid of a man. That is a wonder!
  31. In Luke 13, He healed the woman that had been bowed down by Satan for 18 years.
  32. In John 2, He turned water into the sweetest wine that ever existed. That is a wonder!

  34. In John 6, Jesus fed 5000 men, excluding women and children, with 5 small barley loaves and 2 fish thereby demonstrating His ability as Jehovah Jireh.
  35. In John 9:1-7, He gave sight to a man that was born blind, thereby demonstrating that He is the Light of the world.
  36. In John 11, He raised Lazarus from the dead, thereby demonstrating His power over death.
  37. In Acts 3, He made the cripple to walk again. What a wonder!
  38. In James 5:17, He shut the heavens by the word of His servant, Elijah, such that there was no rain for three and a half years.
Beloved, this God is my God. Is He your God? He is the God of wonders. This God has not changed and will never change. He is the same today, yesterday and forever (Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8).

There is nothing the God of wonders cannot do. In Jeremiah 32:27 He said, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

Therefore, I challenge you to stop considering your condition, but consider what the God of wonders has promised you in His Word concerning that your aching situation, and then rest in His power and faithfulness. Allow the God of wonders to prove Himself in your life today! Rise and receive your miracle by faith today!

Watch out for the next edition of Good News from the Pulpit!
