Today,
we want to look at the first step to receiving your miracle “SEE GOD AS HE
REALLY IS – THE GOD OF WONDERS!”
The
name of what happens anytime God manifests His wonder is “miracle.” For you to receive
your desired miracle, you must see God the way He really is – unlimited in all
things!
For you to see Him the way He really is, you must have a sound knowledge of His ability. You must be fully persuaded (convinced) that GOD IS ABLE to do whatsoever He promised you in His Word (Lk. 1:37; Jer. 32:27, Eph. 3:20).
But because of the
ignorance of His ability, many Christians fail to experience the
wonder-working power of God.
Pain,
fear, frustration, hopelessness and the hard cold facts staring you at the face
could hinder you from seeing God as He really is. For instance, suppose you
have been hospitalized and you are told by the doctor that you have cancer and
you have only two weeks to live, it is difficult to look beyond the
circumstances and see a supernatural God who cannot be limited by anything.
Fear engulfs you and blinds you from seeing God as He really is.
When
your JAMB score is 50 out of 400, a sense of hopelessness hinders you from
seeing the God who can turn your impossible situation around.
When
your womb has been surgically removed and you are told that you are going to
have a baby, a sense of hopelessness hinders you from seeing the God who can instantly
change your story.
To
take limits off Jesus, to look beyond your problems, to have an unlimited
vision of Jesus you must be fully persuaded that He is able to perform whatever He has promised us in His
Word (Rom. 4:21).
Knowledge
of the power of God you will truly convince you that He has all it takes to do
for you far beyond whatsoever you can ever ask or imagine.
Joshua 4:23-24 says, “For the Lord your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and He kept it dry until you were all across, just as
He did at the Red Sea when He
dried it up until we had all crossed
over. 24 He did this so that all the nations of the earth MIGHT KNOW
THE POWER OF THE LORD, and that you might fear the LORD your God forever.”
“…but the people that do know (the power of) their God shall be
strong, and do exploits” (Dan. 11:32).
This power is not natural, but supernatural. This is the very power that
makes God to be God. The Bible has an eight-fold description of this divine and
irresistible power:
1. This power is GREAT! Acts
4:33 reads, “And with GREAT power the apostles gave witness to the
resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.”
2. This power is MIGHTY!
Ephesians 1:19 says, “And what is the exceeding greatness of His
power to us ward who believe according to the working of His MIGHTY
power.”
3. This power is EXCEEDING GREAT!
Ephesians 1:19 says, “And what is the EXCEEDING GREATNESS
of His power to us ward who believe according to the working of His mighty
power.”
4. This power is EXCELLENT!
2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the EXCELLENCY of the power may be of God and not of us.”
5. This power is ETERNAL!
Romans 1:20 says, “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even, His ETERNAL
power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”
This is not a power that fades with time. It is permanent. It never
loses its strength (potency, quality). It is the same today, yesterday, and
forever (Heb. 13:8; Mal. 3:6). The miracles it did in the past, it will do
today, and even in the timeless future. There will be a repeat of such miracles
in your life today!
6. This power is GLORIOUS!
Colossians 1:11 says, “Strengthened with all might according to His
GLORIOUS power unto all patience and longsuffering and joyfulness.”
7. This power is DIVINE! 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According
as His DIVINE power hath given unto us all things that pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that called us unto glory
and virtue.”
8. This
power is UNLIMITED, and this is why God can never be limited by
anything.
In
Luke 1:37 Jesus said, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
In
Matthew 19:26 Jesus said, “…With men this is impossible; but with God
all things are possible.”
In
Jeremiah 32:27 God said, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh:
is there anything too hard for Me?”
Here is the truth: God is omnipotent, and therefore, cannot be
limited in any way. And because He is unlimited in power, He can do the
impossible! God is able to:
1. Do the unthinkable or unimaginable
(Isa. 43:18-19; Lk. 1:37; Jer. 32:27). For instance:
a) He is able to raise children from stones (Matt. 3:9-10).
b) God can make a way
for you where men say there is no way. For instance, God parted the Red Sea
for the children of Israel to pass (Ex. 14). This is
unthinkable!
c) Make a woman that
was 90 year old, in whom it has ceased to be after the manner of women, to
conceive and bare a son (Rom. 4:17-21). This is unthinkable!
d) Shut the mouth of
the hungry lions in the den of lions (Dan 6), so they could not harm
Daniel. This is unthinkable!
e) Convert a fiery
furnace into an air-conditioned room. In Daniel 3, He converted the fiery
furnace that was made seven times hotter into a properly chilled
air-conditioned apartment. This is unthinkable!
f) Make dry bones to
live again. In Ezekiel 37:1-10, He caused the dry bones of dead people in
an open valley to become an exceeding great army.
g) Make you to walk
on water. Peter walked on water (Matt. 14:22-32; Heb. 12:2).
h) Calm any kind of
storm. He can calm the storm in your marriage, business etc. In Mark 4: 35-41, He calmed the storm raging
in the Sea of Galilee.
i) Feed you with the
food of angels. In Exodus 16:35, God fed the children of Israel for forty
years in the wilderness with manna from Heaven. They lacked nothing in all that
time. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell! He gave the
children of Israel bread from heaven when they were hungry and water from the
Rock when they were thirsty (Ex. 17). He is the Fountain of living water (Jer.
17:13).
j) Make a paralyzed
man whole again. In Mark 2: 1-12, He healed a paralyzed man.
k) Make the deaf and
dumb to hear and speak. In Mark 7:31-37, He made the deaf and dumb both to
hear and speak.
l) Turn water into
wine. In John 2, He turned water into the sweetest wine that ever existed.
m) Heal you no matter
how long your sickness has lasted. In John 5, He healed a man by the pool
of Bethesda who had an infirmity for 38 years. Also, in Mark
5, He healed a woman who was suffering from an issue of blood for 12
years.
n) Raise the dead. He raised the daughter of Jairus from
the dead. May be the Pharisees said that the girl was not really dead but
sleeping. Therefore, He raised the only son of the woman of Nain that was
already in a coffin from the dead. The scientists among them said that he may
have also been in a long coma. This time around Jesus decided to allow a man
called Lazarus to be stone dead, and already buried in the grave yard. In John
11, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
o) Give sight to the
blind (Mk. 10:46-52), even if you were born blind (Jn. 9:1-7).
2. Deliver you from any kind of trouble or destruction. The
Bible says, “Many are
the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all”
(Ps. 34:19).
For instance, a) He delivered the
three Hebrew children from the blazing fiery furnace (Dan. 3:17). a) He
delivered Daniel from the hungry lions in the den of lions (Dan. 6). b) He
delivered Paul and Silas from the dungeon (Acts 16:19-34). c) He delivered
Peter from prison (Acts 12:11).
3.
Help or assist you when you are tempted (Heb. 2:18; 1 Cor. 10:13).
4.
Save you to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to
make intercession for you (Heb. 7:25).
5. Give you much
more than you desire (2 Chron.
25:9).
6. Make all grace
abound toward you so that you can abound unto every good work (2 Cor. 9:8).
7. Destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt.
10:28).
8.
Keep you from falling (Jude 24)
9.
And if you ever happen to fall He is
able to make you stand again (Rom. 14:4).
10. Build you up and give you an
inheritance among all them that are sanctified (Acts 20:32).
11. Graft the children of Israel in again
if they abide not in unbelief (Rom. 11:23).
12. Do exceeding abundantly above all
that you ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20).
13. Subdue all things unto Himself (Phil.
3:21).
14. Keep that which you have committed
unto Him against that day (2 Tim. 1:12).
15. Succour them that are tempted (Heb.
2:18).
16. Save your soul (Jam. 1:21).
17. Save them to the uttermost that
come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them (Heb.
7:25).
18. Perform whatsoever
He has promised. A good example is the case of Abraham
and Sarah.
In Genesis 15:1-6 the Bible says that after this, the Word of the LORD
came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield,
your very (exceeding) great reward."
But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, what can You give
me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer
of Damascus?" And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a
servant in my household will be my heir."
Then the Word of the LORD came to him:
"This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will
be your heir."
God then took him outside and said,
"Look up at the heavens and count the stars--if indeed you can count
them." Then He said to Abram, "So shall your
offspring be."
In Genesis 18:10 God said to Abraham, “I
will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah
thy wife shall have a son.”
Abraham
was fully persuaded that God is able
to do whatsoever He has promised.
Romans
4:21 said, “And (Abraham) being fully persuaded (convinced) that, whatsoever
He had promised, HE WAS ABLE also to perform.”
In Genesis 21:1-2 the Bible says, “And
the LORD visited Sarah as He had said (promised), and the LORD did unto
Sarah as He had spoken (promised). 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare
Abraham a son in his old age, at the set (appointed) time of
which God had spoken to him.”
You
too, like Abraham, ought to be totally convinced that you will receive your
breakthrough whenever you come to God for help.
No
matter how extreme your calamity, God is able to help you. Therefore, if you want that reproach in your life to be
permanently rolled away right now, you must
choose to take the limits off the GOD OF WONDERS.
