A
number of Christians today are not experiencing victory in many areas of their
life because they have no faith in the blood of Jesus.
Romans
3:24-25 says, “Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through
faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins
that are past, through the forbearance of God.”
Your
total victory over Satan in this world is in the blood of Jesus (Rev. 12:11).
When Jesus shed His blood, He offered the only sacrifice required to provide
for all our needs in time and in all eternity.
The
precious blood of Jesus means everything before the throne of God. Every time
the blood of Jesus is honoured God moves. Why? God always honours the blood of
Jesus in order to honour His Son.
The
blood of Jesus also means everything to Satan. Why? Satan and his demons know
that by the blood of Jesus Christ, they have suffered everlasting defeat. There
is nothing the devil can do to reverse what the blood of Jesus has done to
them. That is why he does everything possible to keep you ignorant of what the
blood of Jesus has accomplished for us.
Without
knowing what the blood of Jesus has accomplished for us, you cannot put your
faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Faith in the blood of Jesus Christ can only be developed by knowing
what that blood has accomplished for us (Rom. 10:17).
So today, we want to look
at what that blood has accomplished for us: “THE BENEFITS OF THE BLOOD OF
JESUS CHRIST!”
What then has the blood of Jesus Christ accomplished for us?
1.
We have redemption through His blood of Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:14 says, “In
Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of
sins.”
“Christ
hath redeemed us from the curse of the law…” (Gal. 3:13).
Here is the point: we have
been repurchased or “bought back” from the enemy (the devil) by the
blood of Jesus Christ.
This
buying back could not be accomplished with money or any other physical thing
because the price was higher than anything earth could afford. Blood was
the only price, as is understood in the breaking of any blood covenant.
2.
I have become a property of God by the
blood of Jesus Christ. “…20 For ye are bought with a
price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are
God's” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).
3. It is the means by which Jesus became our
atonement through faith. “Whom God the Father hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for
the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God” (Rom. 3:25).
4. The Blood of Christ causes us to dwell in Christ
and He in us. Jesus said, “He
that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in
him” (Jn. 6:56).
5. I am no longer a stranger to the covenant of
promise. “…that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from
the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE,
having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who
once were far off have been brought near BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST” (Eph. 2:12-13).
6. I have been declared righteous because of the
blood. “For God the Father made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us, that
we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:21).
7. I am able to come close to God the Father because
of the blood of Jesus Christ. “…But now in Christ Jesus you who once
were far off have been brought near BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST” (Eph. 2:12-13).
8. The blood of Jesus remits sins. God the Father remits (forgives,
pardons) our sins through the blood Jesus Christ shed for us, because
without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Heb. 9:22).
Jesus said, “For
this is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the
remission of sins” (Matt. 26:28).
God the Father completely forgives your sin when you
believe in Jesus. “To Jesus give all the prophets witness, that through
His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).
9. I am justified through
the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ blood brings
justification to the guilty (Rom 5:1, 9, 3:24-25; Acts 13:38-39). Romans 5:9 says, “Much more then, being now
justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”
One of the common tactics
of the devil involves accusation.
One of his ploys begins with, “And
you call yourself a Christian.” This
statement hurts, and the enemy knows how to guide it into the human mind with
pinpoint accuracy.
The problem with such
accusations is that more often than not, they are true. At this
point, God’s promise concerning forgiveness
through Jesus’ blood gives a person the ability to resist the enemy’s
accusations.
10. We have the
forgiveness of sins through His blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ blood compensates
for all the wrongs you have ever done.
“In whom we have the forgiveness of sins through His blood, according
to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14).
11. I can participate in the sweet communion of
remembrance of His sacrifice. Likewise Jesus also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup
is the New Covenant in My blood, which is shed for you” (Lk.
22:20).
12. I am spared from God’s wrath to come because of
the blood of Jesus Christ. “Much more then, having now been justified
by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Rom. 5:9).
13. I am spiritually healed; one day even my flesh
will be replaced with an incorruptible body because of the blood of Jesus
Christ. “…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we,
having died to sin, might live for righteousness, by whose stripes we were
healed” (1 Pet. 2:24).
14. I am spiritually alive through the blood of
Jesus Christ. Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no
life in you” (Jn. 6:53).
15. My judgment (condemnation) has been satisfied
and I am at peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. “But
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the
chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isa. 53:5).
There is peace that
passes all understanding in the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ blood brings peace to troubled hearts.
16. I am washed and
cleansed from all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. “But if we
walk in the light, as God the Father is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from
ALL sin…9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness” (1 Jn.
1:7-9).
17. The blood of Jesus
Christ purges our consciences from dead works. Through the blood of
Christ, Christians receive the cleansing of their consciences. “How much
more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from “dead works” to
serve the living God?” (Heb. 9:14).
18. I am freed from a
conscience defiled by guilt because of the blood of Jesus Christ. “Let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Heb.
10:22).
19. By the blood of Jesus
Christ every condemnation upon your life is eternally removed (Rom. 8:1-2). Jesus
promised saying, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My
Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting (eternal) life, and
shall not come into condemnation (judgment); but is passed from death unto
life” (Jn. 5:24).
20. I have liberty and
freedom through the blood of Jesus Christ. “Stand fast, in the liberty by
which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke
of bondage” (Gal. 5:1).
21. I am protected from (satanic
attacks) judgment by the blood of Jesus Christ. …that you shall say, “It
is the Passover sacrifice of the Lord, who passed over the houses of the
children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our
households…” (Ex. 12:27).
22. There is sanctification
through the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ has the power to
sanctify the Born Again believer. “Wherefore Jesus also, that He might
sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate” (Heb.
13:12).
Sanctification means
“to be set apart,” and the application of Jesus’ blood sets a person apart
as God’s very own.
23. By the blood of Jesus
we have confidence to enter the holy place – His very presence. The blood of
Jesus gives us the boldness to enter into the very Presence of God (Eph. 3:12).
The
blood of Jesus grants us direct access into the very Presence of the Almighty
God (Rom. 5:2).
“And the veil of the temple was rent in twain
from the top to the bottom” (Mk. 15:38).
This made
the way for every child of God to access the throne of God the Father
directly, and not through any middle man.
We can enter the holiest
by the blood! “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus…” (Heb. 10:19).
24. I have been separated
from the world and declared holy to God (Gal. 2:20).
25. There is total
victory over Satan through the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ
possesses the power to overcome the devil and his demons. “And they
(the saints) overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and
by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”
(Rev. 12:11).
As a Born Again believer
you have the power to overcome the enemy through the blood of Jesus Christ.
26. I am no longer under
the curse of the law because of the blood of Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:13).
27. There is freedom from
fear through the blood of Jesus Christ. “For ye have not received the
spirit of bondage again to FEAR; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father…” (Rom. 8:15-18).
28. There is healing and
divine health through the blood of Jesus Christ (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:17; 1
Pet. 2:24).
29. There is protection
in the blood of Jesus (Col. 3:3; Isa. 59:19). The blood of Jesus protects us
from plagues, epidemics and all sorts of diseases. The blood of Jesus protects
us from demonic invasions, oppressions, and afflictions.
30. There is divine
provision in the blood. As a result of the disobedience of Adam and
Eve to God’s instruction, they were driven out from the Garden of Eden,
and could no longer eat of the tree of life (Gen. 3:22-24).
Being driven out from the
Garden of Eden means being separated from the provisions of God because
in His Presence there is fullness of joy (Ps. 16:11).
We can see that due to
their disobedience, Adam and Eve, were driven out of His presence and were
therefore, disconnected from His provisions. Jesus went to the Cross to reconnect
us to these blessings - the blessing of total prosperity.
Jesus became poor for our
sake so that we can become rich (2 Cor. 8:9; 2 Cor. 9:8; Phil. 4:19).
31 There is life
(eternal life) in the blood. The blood of Jesus Christ
is alive even today, and will be alive forever. The life in it is not the one
that expires with age. It is ageless. So, drinking the blood of Jesus Christ
gives you eternal life (Jn. 6:53-54).
32. The blood of Jesus
Christ reconciles us to God the Father. The blood of Jesus Christ has the power
to reconcile us to God the Father. The blood of Jesus brings those who were
once far away from God near to Him.
“But now in Christ
Jesus you (the Gentiles) who once were far off have been brought near
by the blood of Christ” (Eph. 2:13; Col. 1:20-22; Rom. 5:10).
33. New Life with God the Father
was made possible by the blood of Jesus Christ. The
blood of Jesus brings us near to God (Eph. 2:12-13).
34. The blood of Jesus
Christ brings us acceptance. You are accepted by God only because of the
blood of Jesus (Eph. 1:6).
35. Rescued out of a
sinful way of life by the blood of Jesus Christ. Being ransomed from futile
ways of life is another benefit Christians have through the blood of Jesus. We
are rescued from a life lived devoid of meaning and are brought into a
relationship with God and the ability to live in His will and with purpose.
“…you were ransomed (rescued) from the futile
ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as
silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a
lamb without blemish or spot” (1 Pet. 1:18-19).
To fully
experience the power in the blood of Jesus, you have to appropriate it to
yourself. To appropriate something
means to take that thing for your own use.
To appropriate something
means to take that thing for your own use. You must learn how to use the blood
of Jesus in your everyday life.
How can I appropriate the blood of Jesus? For
instance, you say, “I believe I receive divine health, restful sleep,
peace, long life, deliverance, financial overflow through the blood of Jesus,
in Jesus’ name.” I believe I receive my children saved and serving God
through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name. I believe I receive
promotion, open doors through the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
What a wealth of benefits
we have through the blood of Jesus!
I therefore,
encourage you to rise up and begin to use the blood of Jesus Christ in your
everyday life from today.
