HOW TO INCREASE THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR MIDST!

INTRODUCTION!
It is necessary to increase the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in your life as an individual and in our midst whenever we gather unto the Lord as a Local Assembly.

Therefore, today we want to look at “HOW TO INCREASE THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR MIDST!”

TEXT:
“But THE MANIFESTATION of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

    8 For to one is given by the Spirit the Word of Wisdom; to another the Word of Knowledge by the same Spirit;
    9 To another (special) Faith by the same Spirit; to another the Gifts of Healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the Working of Miracles; to another Prophecy; to another Discerning of Spirits; to another Divers Kinds of Tongues; to another the Interpretation of Tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He wills” (1 Cor. 12:7-12).

We can increase the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in our midst by:
SUMMARY:
1. Eliminate the ignorance of God’s will concerning spiritual gifts.
2. Desire the manifestation of the Holy Spirit!
3. Agreement/Corporate prayers!
4. Maintain unity amongst us.
5.    Intensify    and    sustain    our worship!

1. ELIMINATING THE IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WILL CONCERNING SPIRITUAL GIFTS.
In 1 Corinthians 12:1 the Bible admonishes us not to be ignorant of spiritual gifts and their operation because you cannot manifest what you have no knowledge of.
“Now about ( concerning ) spiritual gifts ( the manifestation of the Holy Spirit), brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant” (1 Cor. 12:1).
God said, “Therefore, My people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst” (Isa. 5:13).
In Hosea 4:6 God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
HOW CAN ONE ELIMINATE
IGNORANCE FROM HIS LIFE?
Jesus said, “Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God”
(Matt. 22:29).
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall MAKE you free” (Jn. 8:32).
To eliminate ignorance of God’s will from your life you
MUST study the Word of
God with all diligence so as to intimate yourself with the will of God concerning the manifestation of the
Holy Spirit.
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
How can this be achieved?
(A)    THROUGH A DILIGENT STUDY OF THE WORD OF
GOD IN THE AREA OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS (1 COR. 12,
14).
2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study (the Word of God) to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
(B)    THROUGH CONTINUOUS
MEDITATION ON THE WORD OF GOD.
Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to ALL that is written therein: for then (1) thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then (2) thou shalt have good success.”
Psalm 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that (1) bringeth forth his fruit in his season; (2) his leaf also shall not wither; and (3) whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalms 119:105, 130 say, “Thy
Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path….130 The entrance of thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple (open hearted; no idols in the heart).”
In Romans 1:16-17 Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God REVEALED from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.”
WHY ALL THESE?
It is the will of God for every Christian to manifest the spiritual gifts that will enable him/her stand in the office wherein God has called him (1 Cor. 12, 14; Eph.
4:11-13).
EXAMPLE:
A Prophet is expected to manifest the gift of prophecy in addition to at least two revelation gifts.
An Evangelist is expected to manifest the revelation gifts in addition to the power gifts and some utterance gifts.
THESE GIFTS CAN BE OPERATED ONLY WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT DECIDES.
The spiritual gifts are not under your control.
Therefore, you can’t operate them whenever you want, but only as the Holy Spirit decides
(wills).
2. DESIRING THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
To desire something means to want (long for) that thing very strongly.
YOU CAN ONLY DESIRE WHAT YOU KNOW.
The knowledge you have about a thing is what will create the desire ( hunger ) for that thing in your life.
1 Corinthians 14:1 says, “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire (long for) spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.”
1 Corinthians 12:31 says, “But covet earnestly the best gifts…”
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO COVET?
To covet earnestly means to eagerly desire.
3. AGREEMENT/CORPORATE PRAYERS!
When more than two people who have the same mindset come together and pray, a corporate unction causes the result to manifest faster: one will chase 1000, and two will chase 10,000.
So, more than two will chase more than
20,000.
Jesus said, “Again I say unto you, That if (any) two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them”
(Matt. 18:19-20).
EXAMPLES:
For instance, when Peter and John were threatened after the healing of the man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful.
Acts 4:24, 29-30 says, “When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.” Sovereign Lord," they said, "You made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David: "'Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? 26 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One.' 27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed. 28 They did what Your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable Your servants to speak Your Word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant
Jesus."
THIS INVOLVES PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST!
“Praying always with ALL prayer and supplication in the Spirit,…”
(Eph. 6:18).
WHAT SHOULD WE PRAY ABOUT?
We should corporately pray that the gifts of the Holy Spirit will be in greater manifestation in our lives as individuals and in our midst as a
Local Assembly.
4. ENSURING THAT THERE IS UNITY AMONGST US.
Psalm 133:1-3 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IN ONE ACCORD?
It    means to be of one mind.
It means to be likeminded.
Philippians 2:2 Apostle Paul said, “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one
mind.”
HIS GLORY COMES DOWN WHEN WE WORSHIP
HIM IN ONE ACCORD (IN UNITY; WITH ONE MIND).
In 2 Chronicles 5:11-14 the Bible says, “And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course: 12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers WERE AS ONE, TO MAKE ONE SOUND to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of THE CLOUD: for the glory of the
LORD had filled the house of God.”
Examples of people in one
accord abound in the
Scriptures:
A) THE DAY OF PENTECOST:
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1).
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE DAY OF PENTECOST WAS FULLY COME?
There was great manifestation of the Holy Spirit in their midst.
“And SUDDENLY there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were ALL filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:2-4).
B) WHEN PETER AND JOHN WERE THREATENED BY THE CHIEF PRIESTS AND ELDERS AFTER HEALING THE MAN THAT WAS LAME.
“But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them NOT TO SPEAK AT ALL NOR TEACH IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done” ( Acts
4:15-22).
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THEY WERE THREATENED?
They went to their company and they all prayed in one accord.
“And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. 24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their VOICE to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed (Acts 10:38), both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy Word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus” (Acts 4:23-30).
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY FINISHED PRAYING?
The place where they    were assembled together was shaken.
That    was    a manifestation
of the Holy
Spirit.
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31).
5. INTENSIFYING AND
SUSTAINING OUR WORSHIP!
This is talking about ministering to the LORD in an intense and sustained manner.
WHAT IS TRUE WORSHIP?
True worship is ministering to the
LORD without expecting anything from Him in return.
HIS PRESENCE IS USHERED INTO A SERVICE THROUGH WORSHIP.
When we worship God in spirit and in truth, we not only invite the King of Glory into our midst, but we also move deeper into His
Presence.
When God’s Glory is made manifest, He can touch and heal thousands of people in an instant.
Miracles and healings will take place without the laying on of human hands.
HERE IS THE KEY:
As the corporate worship of the saints grow (1) purer, (2) more intense and (3) sustained longer, the manifestation and experience of God’s glory will increase in intensity.
IN HIS PRESENCE THE POWER OF GOD
IS RELEASED TO DESTROY EVERY YOKE.
Example is the case of Paul and Silas ( Acts
16:16-40).
At midnight, they prayed, they sang, and the Holy Ghost came down.
WHEN PRAYER AND WORSHIP FILL THE AIR, THE ATMOSPHERE IS SATURATED WITH THE ANOINTING OF GOD.
Prayer and worship spread a spiritual canopy over
God’s people.
The power of God always prevails when we intensify and sustain the worship.
If you want a breakthrough in your life, you must break forth into praising and worshipping the Lord.
Break forth into dancing, into joy, into praise, into prayer, and into worship.
Begin    by letting    your voice    break forth.
It will help you    to
breakthrough spiritually.
CONCLUSION!
Beloved, if everyone here today that is Born Again earnestly puts the above steps into action, I assure you that there will be a great manifestation of the Holy Spirit in your life as an individual and in our midst as an Assembly.
MY PRAYER!
My prayer is that you’ll be fully persuaded and convinced that if God said it, it will certainly come to pass.
PRAYER:
1.    Father, please show me mercy, forgive all my sins and cleanse every soiled part of my life with the blood of Jesus. I forgive everyone that has offended me, in Jesus’ name.
2.    LORD Jesus, please baptize me now with the Holy Ghost and with fire, in Jesus’ name.
3.    Holy Ghost, please come on me now as the dew of Heaven, re-fill and refresh me, in Jesus’ name.
4.    Father, I pray that the gifts of the Holy Spirit will be in greater manifestation in my life and in our midst as a Local Assembly, in Jesus’ Name.
5.    Fire of the Holy Spirit, blaze upon the altar of my heart right now, in the name of Jesus.
6.    Holy Spirit, inflame and fire my heart for the things of God especially evangelism, in Jesus’ Name.
