To proclaim liberty to the captives and set the captives free through the preaching of a sound and undiluted Word of God aimed at transforming (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:3) lives to the point that they conform totally to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:29), while promoting the core values which will ensure abundant life, in order to magnify God’s name.

INTRODUCTION! Today I am sharing on “THE UNSPEKAKABLE GIFT!”
At this time of the year, people all over the world gather from far and near to their various ancestral homes to celebrate.
“WHAT IS THE TRUE REASON FOR THIS CELEBRATION?” It is because of the “birth” of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
The birth of Christ heralds (announces) the entrance of God into human history.
TEXT! “…the Dayspring from on high has visited us” (Lk. 1:78).
During such times, many people give gifts unto loved ones and appreciate receiving gifts too, but many never appreciate the greatest “Gift” of all times given to mankind.

JESUS IS THE GREATEST GIFT TO MANKIND! Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16).

HOW DOES THE BIBLE DESCRIBE THIS GIFT? The Bible describes this “Gift” as “UNSPEAKABLE.”

WHICH GIFT IS THIS SCRIPTURE TALKING ABOUT? The Scripture is talking about the Gift of Jesus Christ, the one and only begotten Son of God!

In John 4:10, Jesus said to the woman at the well, “If thou knowest the GIFT of God and who it is that saith to thee, Give Me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee LIVING WATER.” 18
WHAT IS THE IMPLICATION OF THE WORD “THE?” The word “THE” qualifies this Gift as the ultimate [greatest] Gift that can ever be given to mankind.

WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES JESUS THE UNSPEAKABLE GIFT OF THE SEASON? In Isaiah 9:6 the Bible says, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given (Jn. 3:16); and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

I. WONDERFUL. The word “Wonderful” = WONDER + FULL. That means that He is full of wonder. Amazing! Incredible! Awesome! 22
THE BIBLE BEGAN WITH THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD AS THE GOD OF WONDERS. From Genesis to Revelation, God shows Himself as the God of wonders. 23
In Genesis 1: 1-3 He said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” This is a wonder! 24
In Hebrews 1:3 the Bible says that He upholds all things by the Word of His power.

In Exodus 4, He spoke to Moses in a burning bush. The bush was burning but was not consumed. This is a wonder! 26
OUR GOD PERFORMS WONDERS IN HEAVEN AND IN THE EARTH.
Daniel 6:25-27 says, “Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. 26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end. 27 He delivereth and rescueth, and HE WORKETH SIGNS AND WONDERS (1) in heaven and (2) in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.” 27
When the situation facing you appears to be humanly impossible, recognize that God is supernatural. 28
He goes beyond the laws and the power of nature.

Psalm 77:14 says, “You are the God of miracles and WONDERS! You demonstrate Your awesome power among the nations.” 31
Exodus 15:11 says, “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, DOING WONDERS?” 32
Mark 7:37 says, “They were completely amazed and said again and again, "EVERYTHING HE DOES IS WONDERFUL. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak." 33
HE CAN PERFORM WONDERS FOR YOU. In Psalm 40:5 the Psalmist said, “O LORD my God, You have performed many WONDERS for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your WONDERFUL deeds, I would never come to the end of them.” 34
HE CAN EVEN TURN YOU INTO A WONDER God turned the crippled man into a wonder in that people were filled with amazement (Acts 3:1-10). 35
This God made a 90 year old woman to conceive and give birth to Isaac (Rom. 4:17-21). That is a wonder! 36
II. COUNSELLOR. A counsellor is one who advises people.

WHAT IS A COUNSEL? A counsel is an advice given in order to direct the judgment of another.

In the Scriptures, Jesus advises us concerning the decisions of life. 39

The Lord Almighty said, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? In Luke 2:8-15 the Bible says, “…Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to ALL people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth PEACE, GOODWILL toward men!..." 59
2. VIRGIN MARY! In Luke 1:26-33 the Bible says, “…Then the angel [Gabriel] said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS….” 60
3. JOSEPH, THE FIANCÉ OF VIRGIN MARY.
In Matthew 1:18-23 the Bible says, “…But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name IMMANUEL," which is translated, "GOD WITH US. “
