WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

One major reason why many Christians do not experience breakthroughs in their lives is because they don’t even know who they are in Christ – your IDENTITY (Standing).

 

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy” (1 Pet. 2:9-10).

 

Most times people define you based on the circumstances surrounding you at the moment. For instance, the mother of Jabez defined him based on the fact that he was born in sorrow (1 Chron. 4:9-10)

 

But the truth is that you are not who people say you are. You are who God says you are. Therefore today, I want to show you from the Scriptures “WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE.” Concerning who you are in Christ, God says:

 

1. You are a covenant child of God (Jn. 1:12; 1 Jn. 3:2).

2. You are a believer (Mk. 16:16; Jn. 20:30-31).

3. You are a New Creation (2 Cor. 5:17).

4. You are chosen in Christ before the world came into existence (Eph. 1:4).

5. You are an adopted child of God (Rom. 8:15; Eph. 1:5). He chose us and adopted us so that we can have the same rights and privileges that Christ has. Right now, we have equal rights and privileges with Christ.

6. You are Righteousness (2 Cor. 6:14-16).

7. You are Light (2 Cor. 6:14).

8. You are the representative of Christ (2 Cor. 6:15).

9. You are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14-16; Jn. 8:12).

10. You are the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13).

11. You are a god (Ex. 7:1-2; Acts 14:11; Ps. 82:6).

12. You are a person of God (2 Chron. 7:14; 1 Pet. 2:9-10).

13. You are Called by His Name (2 Chron. 7:14).

14. You are the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21).

15. You are of God and you have overcome the world (1 Jn. 4:4; Rev. 12:11; 1 Jn. 5:4-5).

15. You are always triumphant (2 Cor. 2:14; Col. 2:15).

16. You are more than a conqueror (Rom. 8:37).

17. You are a success (Jer. 29:11).

18. You are the image of God (Gen. 1:26-28).

19. You are a king (1 Tim 6:15; Rev.17: 14, 19:16; Eccl. 8:4).

20. You are a lord (1 Tim 6:15; Rev.17: 14, 19:16).

21. I am a chosen generation (1 Pet. 2:9).

22. You are a royal priesthood (1 Pet. 2:9).

23. You are a peculiar person (1 Pet. 2:9; Titus 2:14).

24. You are a holy person (1 Pet. 2:9).

25. You are His elect (Col. 3:12).

26. You are a good soldier of the LORD Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 2:3).

27. You are an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20).

28. You are His workmanship created unto good works (Eph. 2:10).

29. You are of great value to God (Matt. 6:8).

30. You are beloved of God (Jn. 3:16; Eph. 3:19; 1 Jn. 3:1-3; Rom. 8:38-39).

 

Conclusion: Every aspect of your life will come alive as you rightly position yourself for breakthrough by knowing who you are in Christ.
