THE BENEFITS OF THE COMING OF JESUS CHRIST TO PLANET EARTH!

Last two Sundays we saw that it is wrong for a Christian to join the rest of the world in celebrating Christmas because Christmas is a heathen festival – idolatry.

However, we know that some 2000 years ago, the Dayspring from on high, visited humanity. Jesus Christ came to this planet called earth.

In Luke 1:78, the Bible says, “…the Dayspring from on high has visited us. So, today I would like us to look at “THE BENEFITS OF THE COMING OF JESUS CHRIST TO PLANET EARTH!”

1. Christ came to initiate the love of the Father to us. “We love Him, because He first loved us” (1 Jn. 4:19).

“In this was manifested the love of God (the Father) toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 Jn. 4:9-10).

“For God (the Father) so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16).

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Rom. 8:37).

“But God commendeth (showed, demonstrated) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).

Here is the Good News: nothing can separate us from the love of God. Nothing in the entire universe can stop God from loving us. Hallelujah!

“For I am persuaded (convinced), that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39).

2. Christ came to save mankind from sin and hell. Salvation is only in Christ Jesus (Matt 1:20-21, Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 2:5).

3. Christ came to connect us back to God the Father (Jn. 3:16; 1 Tim. 2:5).

4. Christ came to make us right with God (2 Cor. 5:21).

5. Christ came to take away our sins (Jn. 1:29).

6. Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law (Gal. 3:13-14).

7. Christ came to redeem us from all iniquity (Titus 2:14b).

8. Christ came to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death. He came to guide our feet in the way of peace (Lk. 1:79).

9. Christ came that we might enjoy life in abundance, to the full, until it overflows (Jn. 10:10; Eph. 3:20; Ps. 23:4-5; Mal. 3:10; Eph. 1:3; 2 Pet. 1:3).

10. Christ came to purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works (Titus 2:14c).

11.  Christ came to reveal the Father to us (Jn. 1:18; Col. 1:15; Heb. 1:3; Matt. 11:27; Jn. 14:8-10).

12. Christ came to justify us from all things (Rom. 5:1).

13. Christ came that we might reign in (this) life (Rom. 5:17).

14. Christ came to bring grace and truth to humanity (Jn. 1:18).

15. Christ came to destroy the works of the devil in our lives (1 Jn. 3:8-9; Jn. 10:10; Lk. 4:18-19).

16. Christ came to guide our feet into the way of peace (Lk. 1:79).

17. Christ came to deliver us from the power of darkness (Col. 1:13, 2:14-15; Zeph. 3:14-15).

18. Christ came to give us Identity (Eph. 1:11; Phil. 4:13).

19. Christ came to give us Position (Eph. 1:11; Phil 4:13).

20. Christ came to give us Inheritance (Eph. 1:11; Phil. 4:13).

21. Christ came to give us Ability (Eph. 1:11; Phil. 4:13).

What a wealth of privileges we have just because Christ came to planet earth! Glory to the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

Watch out for the next edition of Good News from the Pulpit! I wish you a Christ-centered Season and a happy New Year!
