BEWARE OF CHRISTMAS!

The world calls the 25th of December “Christmas.” On this day, people all over the world gather from far and near to their various ancestral homes to celebrate “Christmas.” So today, we want to take a closer look at that event called “CHRISTMAS!”

In Colossians 2:8 the Bible declares, “Beware (watch out, be at alert) lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” (KJV).

Christmas is thought by most people to be the most wonderful time of the year, focusing the participants on giving, family togetherness, beautiful music and decorations, feasting on special foods and singing Christmas carols throughout the neighborhood. All of these are supposedly centered on “the worship of Jesus Christ.”

All these appear to bring warm feelings to those who celebrate it. But the big question is this: did the Bible instruct us to do all these? No! So, what is the true origin of “Christmas!”

Is the word “Christmas” found in the Bible? No! It is not found anywhere in the Bible. Now, if Christmas is not Scriptural, where then does it come from? What is the origin of this pagan festival?

Here is the truth: Nearly all aspects of “Christmas” observance have their roots in Roman custom and religion.

Prior to 325 AD, the biggest festival in the land was that called Saturnalia, a harvest festival that marked the time the sun stood still in the Sky. This festival was to honour Saturn, the god of the sun.

But by the year 325 AD, Emperor Constantine decided to make Catholicism the most powerful religion on earth; so, he incorporated this popular heathen festival into the Roman Catholic Church. He simply slammed the Roman Catholic holiday on the pagan holiday so that it will be easier for people to convert to Catholicism.

Who is a pagan? A pagan is anyone holding religious beliefs that contradict the Word of God. It means a heathen, an idolater, and an infidel. Pagans worshipped the Sun.

Saturn is the Roman god (deity) of harvest and reaping of the hay. This celebration starts on December 17 of the Julian calendar and later expanded with festivities through to December 23. During this time the Romans worshipped the deity called SaturnSaturn was worshipped in a winter celebration called Saturnalia.

So, in 325 AD Emperor Constantine of Rome thought saying, “Since everyone is already celebrating Saturn at this time, let’s make it the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.”

So, Christmas is actually the celebration of Saturn. People celebrate Christmas on December the 25th because it was a pagan sun-worshipping holiday that the Roman Catholic Church incorporated in order to convert the heathens to Catholicism.

This is exactly why, as a Born-Again believer, you should not celebrate this Christianized pagan holiday.

It is a Roman custom catholicized by the Roman Catholics. God forbids it because it is a heathen festival.

It is idolatry!

What is idolatryIdolatry is the worship of idols or false gods. Here is the truth: Idolatry provokes God to jealousy and anger, and He is obliged to visit that sin with extreme judgment. Idolatry produces many evil consequences in a family line:

1. Multiple sorrows. The Bible says that the sorrows of all who run after other gods will increase (Ps. 16:4).

2. Those who worship idols have no access to God’s mercy (Jonah 2:8).

3. Those who worship idols experience a lot of setbacks in life. They manifest the near-success syndrome and shameful experiences (Isa. 42:17). Members of such families often experience failure at the brink of success

4. Idolatry is the source of the curses and judgments that devastate the people of God (Ps. 78:58).

5. A foundation of idolatry could result in premature deaths in a family (Ps. 78:62).

6. In some families, the men appear to be tormented by an unseen fire. They experience a tortuous life with nothing going on well for them (Ps. 78:63).

7. In some families, their ladies do not get married easily. For some few that dared get married, the kind of rejection, hardship they are facing in that marriage makes them wish that they were never ever married at all (Ps. 78:63).

8. Even the priests from such families die in such a miserable way that their widows cannot mourn them (Ps. 78:64).

9. In some families, their married daughters have so much difficulty in conception and delivery (Hos. 9:11).

10. In some families, the death of babies is very common during delivery or in latter months/years (Hos. 9:12).

11. God’s angry visitation due to idolatry continues even to the bones of dead men and the survivors of such a family (Jer. 8:1-3).

Conclusion: “Christmas” is a Roman Catholic pagan holiday which the Catholic Church changed the name and incorporated it into Catholicism. Therefore, as a Christian, God forbids you from celebrating Christmas because it is IDOLATRY. Remember that idolatry has disastrous consequences.

As a Christian, you ought to celebrate the birthday of Christ every day for saving your soul. Therefore, I pray that you will repent today, quickly remove that Christmas tree in your home, and stop being part of this pagan holiday, pretending that you are celebrating the birthday of Christ. God’s grace!
