THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES

No matter what you are going through in life and what circumstances you are in today whether it is joblessness, financial distress, broken family, rejection, humiliation, betrayal, please take heart in the fact that the one who is sovereign over us and our situations is greater and able to deliver you out of this situation.

So, today we are going to look at “THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES.” What is the meaning of the word “Impossibilities?” It is the quality or state of being impossible.

What then is the meaning of “God of Impossibilities?” I'm referring to the One who has limitless power, who has never - and will never - meet an intimidating obstacle He cannot overcome, an aggressive enemy He cannot overwhelm, a final decision He cannot override, or a powerful person He cannot overshadow.

No matter how terrible your situation may seem, it is possible with God because with God all things are possible.

We see these all throughout the Bible: For example, in Genesis 1 God created the Heavens and the earth out of nothing. He takes nothing and creates something (Rom. 4:17).

How is this possible? It is possible because He is the God of all possibilities.

We read in the Gospels where a young girl, a virgin, became pregnant and gave birth to the Son of God. Who else can cause a virgin to become pregnant without the involvement of a man, and give birth to the Son of God?

No one but the God of all possibilities.

There is a statement of encouragement for all of us who love God and who depend on Him for everything. “… with God nothing shall be impossible” (Lk. 1:37)

In Jeremiah 32:27 God said, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for Me?

The Holy Bible mentions this particular characteristic of our Lord in various other places too. In Matthew 19:26 Jesus said, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

In Mark 10:27 Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

In Acts 26:8 Apostle Paul asked the people, “Why does it seem incredible (impossible) to you that God can raise the dead?”

God can do the impossible because He is able: Now unto Him that IS ABLE to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think(imagine), according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph. 3:20).

“GOD IS ABLE” to see you through whatsoever challenges you may be going through right now.

Why do you think it impossible that God would: 1) Raise the dead, 2) Give sight to the blind, 3) Make the lame to walk, 4) Make a way where men say there’s no way, 5) Make a 90-year-old woman to conceive and give birth to a bouncing baby boy, 6) Protect Daniel in the den of very hungry lions, 7) Cause the fire of the fiery furnace to have no effect on the three Hebrew children, 9) Turn water into wine, 10) Heal the sick of any type of sickness, 11. Change your story?

1. God is able to raise the dead to life again. In Mark, Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead (Mk. 5:22-24, 35-43).

Maybe the Pharisees said that the girl was not really dead but sleeping. Therefore, He raised the only son of the woman of Nain that was already in a coffin, from the dead (Lk. 7:11-16).

The scientists among them may have said that he may have also been in a long coma. This time around Jesus decided to allow a man called Lazarus to be stone dead, and already buried in the grave yard (Jn. 11:1-44). In John 11:43-44, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. The same God will quicken your sick body right now. Romans 11:11 says, “If the Spirit that...”

2. God is able to give sight to the blind. God can give sight to the blind (Mk. 10:46-52), even if he was born blind (Jn. 9:1-7).

3. God can make a way for you where men say there is no way. For instance, God parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel to pass through (Ex. 14). This same God will make a way for you!

4. God made Sarah, a 90-year-old woman, to conceive and bare a son. In this woman, it has ceased to be after the manner of women, yet God made her to conceive and bare a son without the aid of a man (Rom. 4:17-21). This is unthinkable!

5. God can shut the mouth of the hungry lions that are after you. For instance, God shut the mouth of the hungry lions in the den of lions (Dan. 6), so they could not harm Daniel. This is unthinkable!

6. God is able to convert a fiery furnace into an air-conditioned room. In Daniel 3, He converted the fiery furnace that was made 7 times hotter into an air-conditioned apartment. This is unthinkable!

7. God is able to make dry bones to live again. In Ezekiel 37:1-10, He caused the dry bones of dead people in an open valley to become an exceeding great army.

8. God is able to make you walk on water. Peter walked on water (Matt. 14:22-32; Heb. 12:2).

9. God is able to calm any kind of storm in your life. He can calm that storm in your marriage, in your finances, in your business etc.  In Mark 4:35-41, He calmed the storm raging in the Sea of Galilee

10. God is able to make a paralyzed man whole again. In Mark 2:1-12, He healed a man that was paralyzed from neck to toe

11. God is able to turn water into wine. In John 2, He turned water into the sweetest nonalcoholic wine that ever existed.

12. God is able to heal you no matter how long your sickness has lasted. In John 5, He healed a man by the pool of Bethesda (House of mercy) who had an infirmity for 38 years. Also, in Mark 5, He healed a woman who had been suffering from an issue of blood for 12 years

In that your aching situation, all you need do is to realize that:

a)  God is great and He is bigger than that your problem. “…God is great and He performs (does) wonderful deeds” (Ps. 86:10).

b) God is not limited in any way by anything. In Luke 1:37 Jesus said, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Romans 8:31 says, “…If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things (whatever we are going through) we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”

And because God is great and He is unlimited in every way, He can do the unimaginable:

1. He can turn your situation around for your good. “Now unto Him that IS ABLE TO DO exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think (imagine), according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph. 3:20).

2. Realize that your situation is only temporary. “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off” (Prov. 23:18).

3. Joy is on the way. “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Ps. 30:5).

4. No matter your challenges, God is able to deliver you. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all” (Ps. 34:19-20).

Look at what the three Hebrew children said: “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king…” (Dan. 3:17-18).

Therefore, be fully persuaded that the Ancient of Days, the Alpha and the Omega, the Almighty God, Jehovah Ebenezar, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Jireh, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, is ABLE to:

1. Generously meet to all your need. “And GOD IS ABLE to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in allthings, may abound to every good work” (2 Cor. 9:8).

2. God is able to perform whatsoever He has promised. A good example is the case of Abraham and Sarah. In spite of all odds, God performed exactly what He promised them (Gen. 15:1-6).

In Genesis 18:10 God said to Abraham, “I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.”

And (Abraham) was fully persuaded (convinced) that, whatsoever He had promised, HE WAS ABLE also to perform” (Rom. 4:21).

In Genesis 21:1-2 the Bible says, “And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken (promised).2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

What is the promise of God for us this year? 2024, my year of Divine Supply (Phil. 4:19).

Therefore, believe God for your breakthrough and be expectant! “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off” (Prov. 23:18).

In conclusion, let us all therefore, rejoice when our life is in a mess, as the true strength of our God is revealed when we are in trouble. Face the challenges that the world throws at you boldly as nothing is impossible for your God.

Watch out for the next edition of Good News from the Pulpit.
