ACTIVATING THE RESURRECTION POWER IN YOUR LIFE!

Please know this: the power that raised Christ from the dead is resident in the spirit-man of every Born-Again believer.

In Philippians 3:10 Paul said, “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead…” (Phil. 3:10, NLT).

That mighty power that raised Jesus from the grave is what we call the “RESURRECTION POWER.”

Yes, the resurrection power is at work in you right now if you are truly Born Again. Ephesians 3:20 says, Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (imagine), according to the power that worketh in us.”

This power positions every believer to be spiritually violent against every assault and opposition of the devil.

And because of this power at work in your life, the Bible says, “You can do all things….” (Phil. 4:13), Nothing shall be impossible to you (Mk. 9:23), You shall t cast out devils; You shall speak with new tongues; You shall take up serpents; if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; You shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mk. 16:15-18).

When does one receive the resurrection power? You received this power the very moment you repented of your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Jesus said, “…I and My Father will come and abide in him in the person of the Holy Spirit.” Now, the Holy Spirit is residing in the believer with the full power of the Godhead.

1 John 4:4 says, “He that is inside your spirit-man is greater than the devil in the world.”

Yes, the power of Jesus’ resurrection you received from Him when you got saved abides in you right now. But it can only work for you when you activate it.

What happens when you activate it? When you activate it, it removes burdens and destroys yokes in your life.

For instance, the current in the electric wire is not useful until you activate it by turning on the switch.

As a child of God, you have every right to use this power to enforce your authority over the kingdom of darkness. Peter and John realized the presence of this power within them as New Creations and they quickly used it to enforce their authority over the spirit of infirmity in a man that was cripple from birth (Acts 3).

What does it mean to activate? To “activate” means to “make active or operative.”

How can one activate the Resurrection Power? Here are four simple steps to activate the resurrection power residing in you:

1. Believe It. Being Born Again won’t cause the resurrection power to automatically operate in your life. You have to choose to believe Ephesians 3:20 because believing is what activates that power in your life. You have to activate the resurrection power in your life by faith (by believing) before it can work for you.

Every yoke is destroyed by the resurrection power and every part of THE BLESSING is released. Believe it!

What does it mean to believe? “To believe” something means to accept that that thing is true, especially without any absolute proof that you are right in doing so.

With what does one believe? One believes with his “heart (spirit man).” For with the heart man believeth…” (Rom. 10:10).

What then does it mean to believe with the heart? To believe with the heart means to believe with your spirit-man. Your spirit-man is the unseen core of you, and that is the real you.

“To believe with the heart” means to believe apart from whatever your physical senses may be telling you.

For instance, as we look at the board over there with our physical eyes, the colour is white. Now, if God says that the colour of this same board is black, then in spite of what my physical eyes are seeing, I must accept that the colour of this board is black, because God said so, and He cannot lie.

This is why in spite of all that you are going through: God says that it is well with you. He says that you will not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord. He says that you are rich, even when you don’t have 100 Naira in your pocket. He says that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, etc.

2. Say it! Speak the word! Speaking forth the promises of God concerning your situation and circumstances activates the resurrection power in your life.

The power of God resides in faith-filled words. You speak faith-filled words to release THE BLESSING. The power of God resides in faith-filled words. If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He will make alive your mortal flesh (Rom. 8:11).

What happens when you speak forth words? When you speak forth words, you give them life (Jn. 6:33). Anything you don’t declare in the open, God will not do. God said, “As you have spoken, so will I do unto you.”

If you don’t declare it, God has nothing to confirm. For instance, it was the declaration of David that brought him victory over Goliath (1 Sam. 17:36-37, 45-47; Mk. 11: 23).

Let the weak say I am strong and let the poor say that he is rich” (Joel 3:10). A good example is the Shunammite woman. The Shunammite woman maintained a positive confession, “It is well” in spite of the obvious fact that the son was dead (2 Ki. 4:8-26).

This woman refused to say what she was seeing. She rather confessed what she wanted to see. Confessing the Word of God concerning your situation will activate the Resurrection power to destroy that yoke of bondage in your life.

3. Act on it (Do it). The resurrection power in your life can be activated by fasting and praying often in the Holy Ghost.

When you pray in the Holy Ghost, you recharge your battery – you activate the resurrection power residing in your spirit man.

When Paul and Silas prayed and sang, they activated the resurrection power that is in them (Acts 16:25-32).

How do you enforce it? When sickness tries to invade your life, decree and declare that by the stripes of Jesus you have been made whole (1 Pet. 2:24).

To walk in the resurrection power, we must believe, speak and act on what we believe by acting on that Promise. For instance, Peter walked on water at Jesus’ command by the resurrection power. He promptly acted on Jesus’ Word.

4. Fasting and Prayer. The resurrection power in your life can be activated by fasting and praying often in the Holy Ghost (2 Chron. 7:14; Acts 1:8). When you pray in the Holy Ghost, you recharge your battery – you activate the resurrection power residing in your spirit man. When Paul and Silas prayed and sang, they activated the resurrection power that is in them (Acts 16:25-32).

Conclusion: A proper knowledge of this mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead will help you to do exploits for God (Dan. 11:32), and put you permanently on the side of victory.
