FAITH, A MAJOR KEY TO UNLOCKING THE SUPERNATURAL

The supernatural is one of the redemption rights of every child of God. So, the moment you become Born Again, the supernatural becomes your natural inheritance. Yes, the supernatural is your heritage, but some keys are required to unlock this realm.

In Matthew 16:18-19 Jesus said,And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock (revelation) I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven

The first key to unlocking the supernatural is “The Word of God.” The second key to unlocking the supernatural is Faith. Faith puts believers in command of the supernatural.

In Mark 9:23 Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

How many things are possible? All things! Does the all include your own situation?  Yes!

The faith of the Centurion connected him to the supernatural. The centurion answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the Word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10 When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel(Matt. 8:8-10).

And Jesus said unto the centurion, “Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour” (Matt. 8:13).

The faith of the woman of Canaan is another example (Matt. 15:22-28). Faith connected this woman of Canaan to the supernatural. In Matthew 15:28 Jesus said to the woman, “O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”

Here is the truth: The hand of God that commands the supernatural can only be brought to bear by faith. What is faith? Faith is simply taking God at His Word

How then does faith provoke the supernatural?

1. Faith obeys the unreasonable.

The unreasonable does not make sense, yet if you want to see the expected result, you must obey the instruction because God has said so.

John 2:5 says, “Jesus’ mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.”

Jesus asked His disciples to do something that was very unreasonable. Jesus saith unto them, “Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it” (Jn. 2:1-8).

Jesus also asked Peter to do something that was very unreasonable. Peter toiled all night fishing, but he caught nothing.

Now when Jesus had left speaking, He said unto Simon, “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught (catch)” (Lk. 5:4).

And Simon Peter answering said unto Jesus, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken (caught) nothing: nevertheless, at thy Word I will let down the net(Lk. 5:5).

Peter said, “Master Jesus, I have a PhD in fishing. I know the location and the very time of the day that one can catch fish, and what You are asking me to do does not agree with what we learnt in school. However, because You have instructed me to do so, I will obey Your instruction in spite of what I know.”

Look at what followed: “And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake” (Lk. 5:6).

God’s instruction to you in your situation may sound unreasonable! For instance, you may have a great need for money, and God tells you to give first (Lk. 6:38). And you say to God that you have nothing except a cruse of oil. But that’s exactly what God is asking you to give so as to set the principle of receiving

You see, the instruction of Jesus was unreasonable, but obedience to it delivered the unimaginable. Jesus said, that it is not about sense. It may not make sense, but it makes faith.

You will never find a man of faith who regards reasoning.

In John 21:6 Jesus said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.”

Now, what is the difference between the left side of the boat and the right side? Nothing! But if Jesus said put the net on the right side, just obey to the letter, because that is where the miracle will happen, whether it makes sense or not. Listen, what you have been analysing could be the reason why you are paralysed

So, if you want to see the expected result, you must obey the instruction no matter how un-reasonable it sounds!

2. Faith sees the invisible. In Hebrews 11:27 the Bible says, By faith Moses forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible.”

Until you see the invisible you cannot do the impossible (Col. 1:15-16).

The moment you can see into the realm of the supernatural, there is nothing that cannot happen for you. To operate in the supernatural, you must learn how to see with the eyes of faith (Gen. 13:14-17).

3. Faith believes the unbelievable. How can you tell a 100 years old man with a 90 years old wife that he is going to become the father of a great nation? But Abram believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.

Who against hope believed in hope.

“…18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be…” (Rom. 4:17-22).
