To receive the uncommon favour that God has promised us this year, you must position yourself for it. Here is the key: This promise of uncommon favour is accessible to all, but is obtainable only by the obedient. It is totally in your hands to position yourself in the place where this uncommon favour will reach you.
Example of positioning yourself for the possession of what God has promised us is found in 1 Kings 17:1-6.
1 Kings 17:1-6 and verse 15 emphasize the importance of positioning yourself in the right place.
In the same vein, God has a right place for you this year, a right plan for you, and right people He has placed on your path to destiny.
All you need to do is to position yourself correctly to receive the “Divine Favour” in every area of your life.
To position yourself for divine favour, you must be fully persuaded that GOD IS ABLE to do whatsoever He has promised you in His Word.
So today, we are going to look at one of the ways to position yourself to receive divine favour - “BE FULLY PERSUADED THAT GOD IS ABLE TO BRING TO PASS WHATSOEVER HE HAS PROMISED YOU IN HIS WORD!”
If you really want to receive God’s favour, you must be fully persuaded that God has the ability to perform whatsoever He has promised.
The Bible says, “…And being fully persuaded (convinced) that, what He had promised, HE WAS ABLE ALSO TO PERFORM…” (Rom. 4:17-22).
Today, you will be overwhelmingly convinced by evidence that God is able to perform whatsoever He has promised you in His Word, and you’ll personally be an evidence and testimony of His power.
Knowledge of the power of God will truly convince you that He has all it takes to do for you far beyond whatsoever you can ever ask or imagine.
“…but the people that do know (the power of) their God shall be strong, and do exploits” (Dan. 11:32).
The Bible has an eight-fold description of this divine and irresistible power: 1) This power is GREAT (Acts 4:33), 2) This power is MIGHTY (Eph. 1:19), 3) This power is EXCEEDING GREAT (Eph. 1:19), 4) This power is EXCELLENT (2 Cor. 4:7), 5) This power is ETERNAL (Rom. 1:20), 6) This power is GLORIOUS (Col. 1:11), 7) This power is DIVINE (2 Pet. 1:3), and 8) This power is UNLIMITED (Matt. 19:26).
God is omnipotent and therefore can never be limited in power. And because He is infinitely unlimited in power, He can do anything. God is able to:
1. Do the unthinkable or unimaginable (Isa. 43:18-19; Lk. 1:37; Jer. 32:27). “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Lk. 1:37).
a) God can make a way for you where men say there is no way. For instance, God parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel to pass (Ex. 14). This is unthinkable!
b) God made a woman that was 90 year old, in whom it has ceased to be after the manner of women, to conceive and bare a son (Rom. 4:17-21). This is unthinkable!
c) God shut the mouth of the hungry lions in the den of lions (Dan 6), so they could not harm Daniel in anyway. This is unthinkable!
d) God turned a fiery furnace into an air-conditioned room. In Daniel 3, He converted the fiery furnace that was made seven times hotter into a properly chilled air-conditioned apartment. This is unthinkable!
e) God made dry bones to live again. In Ezekiel 37:1-10, He caused the dry bones of dead people in an open valley to become an exceeding great army.
f) God can make you to walk on water. He made Apostle Peter to walk on the Sea of Galilee (Matt. 14:22-32; Heb. 12:2).
g) God is able to calm any kind of storm in your life. He can calm the storm in your marriage, health, business, etc. In Mark 4:35-41, He calmed the storm raging in the Sea of Galilee.
h) God is able to feed you with the food of angels. In Exodus 16:35, God fed the children of Israel for forty years in the wilderness with manna from Heaven. Their shoes and dresses grew as they grew. For forty years God sustained them in the wilderness. They lacked nothing in all that time. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell! He gave the children of Israel bread from heaven when they were hungry and water from the rock when they were thirsty.
i) God is able to give you drinking water from the rock. In Exodus 17, He gave the children of Israel water from the Rock to drink. He is the Fountain of living water (Jer. 17:13).
j) God is able to make a paralyzed man whole again. In Mark 2:1-12, He healed a paralyzed man.
k) God is able to make the deaf and dumb hear and speak. In Mark 7:31-37, He made the deaf and dumb both to hear and speak.
l) God can turn water into wine. In John 2, He turned water into the sweetest wine that ever existed.
m) God is able to heal you no matter how long your sickness has lasted. In John 5, He healed a man by the pool of Bethesda who had an infirmity for 38 years. Also, in Mark 5, He healed a woman who was suffering from an issue of blood for 12 years. Also, in Luke 13, Jesus healed a woman who was bent over with a hunchback for 18 years.
That was why Jesus said, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28).
n) God is able to raise the dead. He raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead. May be the Pharisees said that the girl was not really dead but in a coma. Therefore, He raised the only son of the woman of Nain that was already in a coffin from the dead. The scientists among them said that he may have also been in a long coma. This time around Jesus decided to allow a man called Lazarus to be stone dead, and already buried in the grave yard. In John 11, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
o) God is able to give sight to the blind (Mk. 10:46-52), even if you were born blind (Jn. 9:1-7).
2. God is able to deliver you from any kind of trouble, even from the burning blazing furnace. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all” (Ps. 34:19).
For instance, He delivered the three Hebrew children from the blazing fiery furnace. Daniel 3:17 says, “If it be so, our God whom we serve IS ABLE to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”
He delivered Daniel from the hungry lions in the den of lions (Dan. 6). He delivered Paul and Silas from the dungeon (Acts 16:19-34). He delivered Peter from prison (Acts 12:11).
God is able to deliver you also from any form of destruction. “He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Ps. 107:20).
3. God is able to raise children from stones (Matt. 3:9).
4. God is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all them that are sanctified (Acts 20:32).
5. God is able to keep you from falling. Jude 24 says, “Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling…”
6. And if you happen to fall God is able to make you stand again. “…God is able to make him stand” (Rom. 14:4).
7. Make all grace abound toward you. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “And GOD IS ABLE TO make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
8. God is able to help you when you are tempted. “…He is able to succour (help, assist) them that are tempted” (Heb. 2:18; 1 Cor. 10:12-13).
9. Jesus is able to save you to the uttermost that have come unto God the Father by Him. Hebrews 7:25 says, “Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him…”
10. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or imagine (think). Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto Him that IS ABLE TO do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
Therefore, no matter how extreme your situation, GOD IS ABLE to change your story and put laughter in your mouth right away!
