Apart from the reward of crowns, there are other rewards for overcomers. Here is the truth: While the reward of crowns differs from one saint to the other, the other rewards will be the same for all overcomers. Here are the other rewards for the overcomer:
1. God will give the overcomer to eat of the tree of life.
Revelations 2:7 says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”
2. The overcomer shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelations 2:11 says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.”
3. God will give the overcomer to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Revelations 2:17 says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.”
4. God will give the overcomer a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he that receives it (Rev. 2:17).
5. God will give the overcomer power over the nations.
Revelations 2:26 says, “And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.”
6. Jesus will not blot out the name of the overcomer out of the Book of Life, but will confess his name before His Father, and before His angels.
Revelations 3:5 says, “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of THE BOOK OF LIFE, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.”
7. Jesus will make the overcomer a pillar in the temple of His God, and he shall go no more out: and Jesus will write upon him the name of His God, and the name of the city of His God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from His God: and Jesus will write upon him His new name.
Revelations 3:12 says, “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.”
NLT puts it this way, “All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of My God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write My God’s name on them, and they will be citizens in the city of My God - the New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from My God. And they will have My new name inscribed upon them.”
The New Jerusalem is the future dwelling of the people of God (Rev. 21:2). We will have a new citizenship in God’s future Kingdom. Everything will be new, pure, and secure. Hallelujah!
8. Jesus will grant the overcomer to sit with Him in His throne, even as He also overcame, and is set down with His Father in His throne.
Revelations 3:21 says, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.”
NLT puts it this way, “I will invite everyone who is victorious to sit with Me on My throne, just as I was victorious and sat with My Father on His throne.”
9. The overcomer shall inherit all things, and Jesus will be his God, and he shall be Jesus’ son.
Revelations 21:7 says, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.”
What is the ultimate goal of any reward that you might receive?
Revelations 4:10-11 says, “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship Him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Did you notice what they did with their crowns? They cast it at the feet of the LORD before His throne. That is to say, whatever God has done for you, you need to cast it at His feet before His throne.
Even though you have got the crown as a reward, you should cast it at His feet in Heaven and say, “LORD, if it were not for the blood of Jesus, I would have never been here. You are the only reason why I am here.” Thank You so much for your mercy and grace. I worship you with all that you have blessed me with.”
Mary the sister of Martha did the same. She washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and whipped the tears with the most expensive part of her body – her long hair which is her glory. She worshipped the LORD with her best.
I challenge you to get as many rewards as possible not for you, but so that you can have enough crowns to cast at His feet just to say thank You to Him in worship. Let’s do it like the 24 elders did: cast the crowns at His feet, and just worship Him.
