Failure to realize and understand the package we have in Christ is a major enemy to faith. Last Sunday we looked at our inheritance because of what Christ has done for us on the Cross at Calvary. Today, we are going to look at our ability in Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:5 says, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The power at work in you is divine. The reason why you can do all things is because of the ability of Christ in you. He is the power at work in you.
Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”
Therefore, when circumstances place a demand on you, don’t say, “I can’t do this, even if it is for something for which you truly think that you can’t naturally handle. By the Holy Ghost in your spirit man, you can do all things through Christ that gives you the strength (Phil. 4:13). Beloved, you will never be able to do more than you are willing to confess that you can do in Christ.
“…You are snared by the words of your mouth” (Prov. 6:2) and where the word of the king is there is power” (Eccl. 8:4).
“By thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned” (Matt. 12:37).
Therefore, be conscious of this reality. Always declare, “I can do all things through Christ that gives me the strength.” Christ is you is your strength for success in anything you embark on in life. Christ in you is the assurance of victory in the face of adversities.
Christ in you is everything! His presence in you makes you supernatural. He strengthens you with might in your inner man. And that means no weaknesses in your life.
You may have been weak and timid, and easily discouraged, but now you are turned on from within by His divine power. Now you are bold and courageous because of Christ in you.
According to the Scriptures, you can do whatever God the Father says you can do. God says the Father says: you can do all things (Phil. 4:13), because Christ in you is the One that gives you the strength.
God the Father says that you can do all things (Phil. 4:13). All things are possible to you. In Matthew 19:26 and Mark 10:27 Jesus said, “…with God all things are possible.”
Whatever Christ can do, you too can do because He is the One doing it through you. And with God nothing shall be impossible (Lk. 1:37; Jer. 27:32). You can do how many things? ALL things!
The same New Testament says, “…all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mk. 9:23).
These two verses are statements of fact. All things are possible to him that believeth. So as all things are possible with Christ, all things are also possible to whosoever believes God’s promise.
This is true concerning you. You may not have been taking advantage of it, but it is still true. “Ye are of God” is another way of saying “you are born of God.”
John is telling us that we are born of God, that we have been Born Again, that our spirits have been recreated, that our spirits have been re-gened, that we are of God and have therefore, received eternal life.
The nature and substance of God is in your spirit man. We are actually a new self, a new creation.
When I know that the Life-Giver indwells me, then my very being should radiate life! So I must henceforth not be death-minded, but Life-minded! Not poverty-minded, but plenty (abundance)–minded! Not sickness-minded, but health-minded, for He said, “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Isa. 53, Matt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:22).
Not trouble-minded, but spiritual and peace-minded, because He said, “I will be with you in trouble; I will deliver you…” (Ps. 91:15; Isa. 43:2-3).
The truth is that God is there in your spirit man. You can turn Him loose in you. You can put Him to work in your life.
How can you accomplish that? First, by believing in your heart that He is in there according to the Word of God. Secondly, by confessing with your mouth what you believe in your heart, because you will not enjoy the reality of what the Word says is yours or what you believe until you confess it with your mouth.
Romans 10:10 teaches that “…with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the MOUTH confession is made salvation…” My confession is that Christ is in me, that He is at work in me, and that He works through me.
Can you now see why the bible says that all things are possible to him that believeth? It is because the One with whom all things are possible dwells in you. Oh, how limitless your life becomes when you know that you have whatsoever God says! God says you can:
1. Speak with new tongues.
2. Cast out devils
3. Take up serpents and it will not harm you
4. Drink anything deadly and it shall not hurt you.
5. Reign in this life (Rom. 5:17).
6. Lay your hand on the sick and he will recover (Mk.16: 18).
7. Trample upon serpents and scorpions and over every power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you (Lk. 10:19).
8. Raise the dead (Jn. 11).
9. Still the storm when the wind blows in the contrary (Mk. 6:48-51).
10. Move mountains (Matt. 17:20).
11. Pass through the waters, through the rivers through the fire and you shall not be burnt, neither shall the flame kindle upon you (Isa. 43:2; Isa. 59:19).
12. Decree that it shall not rain and it will be so (2 Ki.17:1).
13. Succeed in everything you do in life (Ps.1:3; Josh.1:8).
14. Have whatever you say (confess) (Mk. 11:23).
15. Manifest hospitality (Heb. 13:1-3).
16. Live a righteous and holy life (Heb. 12:14).
17. Live at peace with all men (Rom. 12:18).
18. Die to self (Gal. 2:20)
19. Be a celebrated soul winner (Prov. 11:30; Dan.12:3).
20. Overcome hurts.
21. Overcome temptations.
22. Resist the devil (Jam. 4:7).
23. Make it to heaven.
Become conscious of the fact that you are not alone. The Greater One is on the inside of you in your spirit man. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”
Therefore, no matter the challenges you may face in life, know that you have all it takes to overcome it. When you face oppositions, you are never to rely on your human ability or the help of man, but on the person of Christ in your spirit man.
Make up your mind to live triumphantly everyday of your life, and do big things for the Lord, because He has granted you the ability of Christ. This is why the Bible says that Christ in you is the hope of glory (Col. 1:20). You are complete in Him (Col. 2:10).
Conclusion: As we come to understand our ability in Christ, we realize that the source for everything is wrapped up in Him. Talk about your ability in Christ. Think it! Believe it! Confess it! As you do this, your faith will abound and you will effectively exercise dominion over the devil walking in total victory everyday of your life.
Confession: My sufficiency is of God, who has lavishly endowed me with unequalled abilities and skills to make me fit for any task. He’s the One at work in me both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Therefore, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!
