Every relationship with God is by faith. All the promises of God from Genesis to Revelation can become yours by faith only. But many Christians are not able to receive the benefits of “Supernatural Faith” because they are ignorant of this truth. So today we want to look at “THE BENEFITS OF SUPERNATURAL FAITH!”
What is benefit? Benefit is the advantage of something. It is like asking, “What are the benefits of going to school?
1 Timothy 4:8 says, “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”
Similarly, supernatural faith has a number of benefits. Such benefits include the fact that:
1. YOU ARE SAVED BY FAITH [saving faith]. Entrance into the Kingdom of God is by faith only. When you believe in what Jesus Christ has done for mankind on the Cross of Calvary, you are saved (Gal. 3:26; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:17; Tit. 2:11-14).
2. YOU ARE JUSTIFIED BY FAITH. To be justified means to be declared discharged and acquitted by the court of Heaven. It means to be declared not guilty by the court of Heaven. You are declared not guilty because Jesus has paid for all your sins – your sin nature and your sin acts.
God is the One that predestinates, calls, justifies, and glorifies (Rom. 8:29-30).
How does He justify us? By faith (Rom. 5:1). Your past is forgiven and your future is guaranteed.
3. YOU ARE SANCTIFIED BY FAITH. To be sanctified means to be made holy, or purified. It is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are made partakers of His holiness; it is a progressive work; it is begun in regeneration; and it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
How does God sanctify His people? God’s people are sanctified only by faith in Christ Jesus (Acts 26:17-18).
4. YOU ARE KEPT IN FAITH BY FAITH. We are kept in faith by the power of God through faith. That you are able to hold on as a Christian in this perverse world is possible by faith only (1 Cor. 10:12; Matt. 10:22; 1 Pet. 1:5).
In other words, God in His mighty power will protect you until you receive this salvation, because you trust Him. It will be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials for a while.
5. YOU HAVE ACCESS INTO HIS GRACE BY FAITH. Faith gives you access into His unmerited favour (Rom. 5:2; Ps. 30:5; Ps. 89:17).
One way of obtaining this favour is by finding a wife. Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.”
In Luke 1:30 the angel said unto her, “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.”
Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
6. Your faith will make God to be pleased with you. The extent to which God is pleased with you is directly proportional to your level of faith in Him.
In Hebrews 11:5 the Bible says that Enoch had this testimony, that he pleased God. Before he was taken up, Enoch was approved as pleasing to God.
In Hebrews 11:6 the Bible says, “But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to Him must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Shedrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego pleased God and God protected them from the fiery furnace (Dan. 3). Daniel pleased God and God protected him from the hungry lions (Dan. 6).
Abraham pleased God and God credited it to him for righteousness (Rom. 4:17-21).
And righteousness will always establish you (Isa. 7:9; 54:14). Righteousness will always exalt you (Prov. 14:34).
7. FAITH WILL MAKE YOU TO HAVE A GOOD REPORT (TESTIMONY). Faith will make God to give His approval concerning you. The Bible says that God gave His approval to people in the days of old because of their faith.
Hebrews 11:2 says, “For by it (faith) or because of their faith the elders obtained a good testimony.”
And in Hebrews 11:4-40 the Bible says that:
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the Land of Promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called,” concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshipped, leaning on the top of his staff.
By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command. By faith Moses’ mother got a little basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. She put the baby Moses in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the edge of the Nile River. The baby’s sister then stood at a distance, watching to see what would happen to him. By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith Moses parted the Red Sea and the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. By faith Joshua parted river Jordan and the children of Israel passed through as by dry ground. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days by Joshua and the children of Israel.
By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
By faith the three Hebrew children danced praise in the fiery furnace (Dan. 3).
By faith Daniel went into the den of lions and came out unhurt (Dan. 6).
And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned; they were sawn in two, were tempted, and were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us (for they can’t receive the prize at the end of the race until we finish the race).
