How does it work? Before the Word of God can produce a miracle in
your life, you must first receive it into your spirit.
The natural mind cannot accept the fact that it is possible for a 90-year-old woman to conceive and give birth to a child; that it is possible for a person born blind to see again; that exactly the right amount of money to meet to a certain financial need will come from unexpected sources precisely at the very moment it is needed. And, because the natural mind is not capable of understanding miracles, God’s promises to you must bypass your natural mind.
When you reach the place where it seems that God’s promises (His
miracle provisions) for healing, prosperity, deliverance are not being
manifested in your life, it is not because God’s Word is powerless; it is
because the Word has not penetrated into your spirit-man.
For instance, one day, a woman in the last stages of
tuberculosis was brought to a certain minister of the Gospel. Doctors had given
her up as beyond medical aid. When the ambulance brought this woman in, this
minister knew that she was dying.
Had this minister still been practicing medicine, she
would have started administering very strong drugs immediately. Instead this
minister began to read the Scriptures to her. She spent about two hours
reading the Word of God concerning divine healing; especially from Deuteronomy
28 and Galatians 3:13.
Then she instructed the dying woman to repeat to
herself every waking moment, “According to Deuteronomy 28:22, consumption (or
tuberculosis) is a curse of the law. But according to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law.
Therefore, I don’t have tuberculosis any longer.”
The sick woman repeated this so many times, but the
story remained the same. On the afternoon of the third day, while this
minister was doing something else, she heard a commotion upstairs. The new
patient came rushing down the stairs, shouting at the top of her voice, Pastor
- did you know? Christ has redeemed me from tuberculosis. I no longer have
tuberculosis! It’s gone now!”
You see the minister realized that the way into the
heart [spirit-man] is through the mind. She knew that if the sick woman
would say to herself often enough, “According to Deuteronomy 28:22, consumption
is a curse of the law. But according to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me
from the curse of the law. Therefore, I no longer have tuberculosis,” the truth would eventually register on her heart
[spirit-man].
Therefore, don’t be too quick to pray for the sick or
someone that has a need. Instruct them more in the Word of God first. Get the
Word to register in their heart (spirit-man). As it registers there, it will
manifest in the flesh.
God’s anointed Word will work for you, and make you
free from every yoke of bondage to sin, sickness, poverty etc. But you MUST act
on God’s Word by agreeing with it. You must believe it and feed upon it constantly.
That’s how you get it into your heart or spirit-man. As God’s anointed Word
becomes part of you, that very anointing will deliver you and bring freedom to
every area of your life.
The Word of God is a seed which should be planted deep in your spirit-man
before it will grow and produce the miracle you need.
For instance, a seed of corn contains the ability within itself to
produce a corn stalk with ears of corn. But there are certain natural laws that
govern its ability to grow:
- It must first be planted;
- It should not be planted too shallowly or too deeply into the ground; If it is planted too deeply, it will lack oxygen. If it is planted too shallowly the sun may scorch it or the birds of the air may devour it.
- The temperature and moisture conditions must be met.
After these conditions are met, the seed begins to swell, the
outer shell breaks and the seed begins to grow. The roots appear first and
before long the shoot breaks through the ground.
Similarly, the promise of God to you [the Word of God] is a seed.
Let’s say you need a miracle in your finances.
God has already spoken the Word to meet to your need. He has said to
you, “Give and it shall be given unto you….” (Lk. 6:38; 2 Cor.
9:6-8; Mal. 3:10; Prov. 3:9-10).
These promises, like seeds, must be planted in your spirit-man.
They will not grow if they are planted in your mind only. Your spirit-man will
become totally saturated with these promises before you will be able to see the
manifestation of your desired miracle.
How do you know that God’s promise has penetrated into your
spirit-man? This you do through meditating on God’s promises to you (Josh. 1:8;
Ps. 1:1-3; Prov. 4:20-22).
In John 15:7 Jesus said, “If ye abide in Me, and My
Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” This is the secret to
living a life filled with miracles.
You must meditate on the Word continually throughout the day.
Allow the promise of God to penetrate any doubt or fear that you may have.
How long should you meditate on the Word? Continuously! Meditate
on it until the day dawn and the day star arises in your heart [spirit-man].
2 Peter 1:19 says, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark
place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”
Once the promises of God are firmly rooted in your spirit-man,
your thoughts will change, and your level of expectancy will rise.
Also, before these promises will produce a financial miracle for
you, you must be sure that the spiritual laws and conditions presented in those
promises are followed. These include:
a) You must give at least a
tenth of ALL your increase to the work of the Lord before you can expect to
receive a blessing you will not be able to contain,
b) The measure you give is the
measure you will receive,
c) You must give as you
purpose in your heart, and
d) You must give cheerfully,
not grudgingly or of necessity.
After these conditions are met, the seed of God’s Word will begin
to grow within you, and as you begin to speak forth that promise, you will
receive your miracle.
When the Word of God takes root within your spirit-man, the faith
and power are released and the promise of God is fulfilled in your life.
As in the story of Elisha and the people of Samaria, or the story
of Virgin Mary, the miracle was within the power of the Word itself. It was in,
“Thus says the Lord.” It was in, “It is written.”
Mary simply yielded herself to God and said to the angel, “Though I
do not understand it, though I cannot comprehend it, be it unto me even as thou
has spoken” (Lk. 1:38).
Therefore, no matter what your need may be, just stand firm on
God’s promise to you and you will see the Word come to pass right before your very
eyes.

Promise
of God for the week:
This week, “God
will disappoint every device of the devil against you. He will thwart their
plans such that their hands cannot achieve what they have planned against you” (Job 5:12).
