Often
times many Christians do not receive their healing because they do not know the
will of God for His people concerning divine health and divine healing.
Therefore, today we are going to look at “THE WILL OF GOD FOR HIS PEOPLE CONCERNING DIVINE HEALTH AND DIVINE HEALING!”
Therefore, today we are going to look at “THE WILL OF GOD FOR HIS PEOPLE CONCERNING DIVINE HEALTH AND DIVINE HEALING!”
What is the will of God for His people concerning
divine health and divine healing? Does God want His children to live in divine
health (prosperity) or in sickness and disease? And if they happen to get sick,
is it the will of God to heal them?
From the New Testament we have the evidence of the
will of God for His people concerning divine health.
3 John v 2
says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and
be in health even as thy soul prospereth.”
The above
Scripture makes it clear that it is the will of God that you be in health.
If
you happen to get sick for any reason, God is willing to heal you no matter the
sickness.
“…Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses” (Matt. 8:17).
“…Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses” (Matt. 8:17).
People asked Jesus questions about divine healing.
Some asked Him
saying, “Will You heal me?” For instance, a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him, and
kneeling down to Him, asked Him saying, “If Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean” (Mk.
1:41-42).
Look at Jesus’ reply, “…I WILL; be thou clean. And
as soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was
cleansed” (Mk. 1:41-42).
Others asked Him saying, “Can You heal me? Are You able
to heal me? Do You have what it takes to heal me?” “...but if Thou canst do anything, have compassion on us and help us
(Mk. 9:22).
Look at Jesus’ reply, “If thou canst believe, all
things are possible to him that believeth” (Mk. 9:23).
This is the truth: The thirty seven times Jesus healed
in the New Testament, He always said “I will.” He never ever said I wouldn’t.
Christ taught
us to pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is
in heaven” (Matt. 6:10). Actually, Christ was teaching us to pray that God’s will might
be done here on earth just as it is done in heaven. There is no sickness or
disease in heaven. If it is not His will that there be sickness in heaven, then
it is not His will that there be sickness and disease on earth too. If His will
is truly done on earth as it is done in heaven, there will be no sickness or
disease among us.
God’s Word
is His will. Matthew 8:17 says, “Surely He hath born our griefs (Heb. – sicknesses), and carried
our sorrows (Heb. – diseases). Yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. But………” (Isa. 53:4-5).
First Peter
2:24 says, “Who His own self bare our sins in
His body on the tree, that we being dead to sin should live unto righteousness,
by whose stripes we were healed.”
In Acts 9:34
the Bible said that Jesus Christ made Aeneas whole. And we know from the
Scriptures that He never changes (Mal. 3:16; Heb. 13:8).
Therefore, if
He made Aeneas whole, He can and will make believers whole today. Hallelujah!
Certainly if God’s people can be healed under
the Old Covenant, we can be healed under a New and better Covenant sealed not
with the blood of bulls and goats, but with the precious blood of Jesus
Christ. The woman in Luke 13 with the
spirit of infirmity was a daughter of Abraham, and so are we if we are in
Christ! And Jesus said, “This woman ought to be loosed” (Lk. 13:16). Therefore,
if the devil tries to bind you with sickness or disease, you don’t have to
accept it! You can be healed because it is the will of God for your life today.
Here is the
truth: you must prosper in your soul first before you can prosper in your
physical body. That is to say that your soul must be properly renewed (Rom.
12:2; Eph. 4:23). Then and only then are you entitled to receive the children’s
bread, because divine healing is the children’s bread.
Divine health
and divine healing are not for dogs. In Matthew 15:21-28 the Scriptures say, “Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the
region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan
came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O
Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed." 23 But He
answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying,
"Send her away, for she cries out after us." 24 But He answered and
said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" 26 But
He answered and said, "It is not good (right) to take the children's
bread and throw (cast) it to dogs." 27 And she said, "Yes, Lord,
yet even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." 28
Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let
it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that
very hour.”
Divine health and divine healing belong to every child of God. They are the will of God for His people even today. If
you want to know what God the Father thinks about sickness, look at Jesus! He
went about healing the sick (Acts 10:38).
Since it is God’s will that you be in health (3 Jn. 2), It is therefore your right not only to get healed of
any kind of sickness or disease but to be in health (remain in divine
health). The Bible says that:
·
God has
pleasure in the prosperity of His children (Ps. 35:27),
·
God wants His
children to prosper and be in health (3 Jn. 2),
·
God wants the
righteous to flourish (Ps. 72:7),
·
Prosperity is
the reward of the righteous (Prov. 13:21),
·
Christ has
redeemed us from the curse of the law, one of which is sickness (Gal.
3:13-14, 29).
What did Christ redeem us from? Christ has
redeemed us from “the curse of the law”.
In Galatians 3:13-14 the Bible says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,
being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth
on the tree (Deut. 21:23): That the blessings of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit
through faith (Acts 2:33).
What is the curse of the law? The expression
“the law” as found in the New Testament usually refers to the Pentateuch,
the first five Books of the Bible. From these Books we find that the curse or
punishment for breaking God’s law is three-fold: (1) Spiritual death, (2) Sickness, and (3) Poverty (Deut. 28:15-22, 27-30,
58-61).
Jesus took (has taken) our infirmities and bore
our sicknesses (Matt. 8:17). So, you don’t have to bear your sickness any more.
He bore them that you might be free! Why might? Because it is a matter of
choice. If you believe that your sickness is no more with you, but that Jesus
has taken it and nailed it to the cross at Calvary, then you will be free
irrespective of what or how you feel or see because we don’t walk by sight but
by faith (2
Cor. 5:7).
In John 8:24, Jesus said, “…for if ye
believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.”
That is to say, if you do not believe that Jesus is
the Healer; if you do not believe that Jesus has already carried away your
sicknesses and diseases, then you will continue to suffer them.
In Isaiah 7:9, the Scripture says, “If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.”
In 2 Chronicles 20:20, the Bible instructs, “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be
established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
Believe what the LORD has promised in His Word
concerning your situation, and you will immediately be relieved of that sickness.
But as long as you don’t believe, the sickness will continue to be your own,
and will remain with you. If you therefore, don’t believe what the LORD has
said, you’ll remain sick. But the Bible states that it is always His will to
heal you.
Why really does God want to heal you? It is God’s will
to heal His people because healing is in God’s redemptive plan for His people.
Healing is in the redemption that Jesus provided for us.
Sickness and disease come from Satan, and God does not
want His children to have anything that comes from Satan. Therefore, Jesus came
and purchased healing for us in the plan of redemption – in His death, burial
and resurrection.
From the beginning, God’s plan for man is that he
should be healthy, and not suffer any type of sickness at all.
Exodus 23:25 says, “And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and He shall
bless thy bread and thy water; and He will TAKE SICKNESS AWAY from the midst of thee.”
God
does not want you to die before your time. In Exodus
23:26 God said, “…..the number of thy days I will fulfill.”
If
you obey the Lord, He will take sickness and disease away from you. You will
not be sick! You will enjoy divine health!
In
Deuteronomy 28:15 the Scriptures say, "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the
voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His
statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you
and overtake you:”
This
verse doesn’t mean that if the children of Israel disobeyed God, God will send
curses upon them; this verse is simply stating that if the children of Israel
disobeyed God, the curses would be able to come upon them and overtake
them because disobedience takes God’s people out from under His protection!
Disobedience breaks God’s hedge of protection around His people.
However, when man fell from that grace of divine health, God
provided divine healing by sending His only begotten Son to come and pay the
price for sin.
Deuteronomy
7:15 says, “And the LORD will take away from
thee ALL sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt,
which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.”
Isaiah 53:4-5
says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But
he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed.”
1 Peter 2:24
says, “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the
tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Psalm 107:20
says, “He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them
from their destructions.”
In Isaiah 55:11
God said, “So shall My Word be that goeth forth
out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that
which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Examples of
those that Jesus healed abound in the Scriptures:
- The woman with the issue of blood for 12 years (Mk 5:21-34),
- The man with withered hand (Matt 12:9-13),
- The man sick of palsy (Mk 2:1-12),
- The impotent (unable to get around by himself) man by the pool of Bethesda that had an infirmity for 38 years (Jn. 5:1-9),
- A demon-possessed boy (Matt. 17:14-21).
- Blind Bartimaeus (Mk. 10:46-52).
Having known that it is the will of God for you to
prosper even health wise, don’t tell me that you can’t make it when you have
seen yourself on the other side of Jordan not only healed but also dwelling in
total divine health. Whose report shall you believe? You shall believe the
report of the Lord. His report says that prosperity (divine health and divine healing) is your
inheritance. His report
says that prosperity is your
reward.
The promise of
divine healing belongs to us NOW, for we are subject to sickness in this life,
not in the next.
And when should you receive your healing? Now! Why?
Because Jesus said, “I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have
I succoured (helped) thee: behold, NOW is the accepted time;
behold, NOW is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).
I therefore, challenge you to position
yourself in line with the Word of God so that you’ll not only cross over to the
land of more than enough, the land of divine health, but you will also dwell
there continually. Act on that promise and then rest in His power and faithfulness.
Rise up and receive your miracle by faith right now!
