One major reason why many Christians are living a life of oppression and defeat in the hand
of the devil today is because they
do not even realize their exalted position in Christ.
God said, “My people are gone into
captivity (Isa. 5:13), or are destroyed (Hos. 4:6) because they lack knowledge.”
So today, I want to show you from the Scriptures where God has
positioned you because you are in Christ!
In Luke 15:11-32 we read the
story of the prodigal son. Many Christians today are like the prodigal son in this parable who, being
ignorant of his position as a son, took his own share of the father’s
wealth and went to a far country to spend it on riotous living.
A time came that his resources finished, and
he joined himself to a certain man in that strange land so as to earn a living. Because he was so
hungry, and no one gave him anything to eat, he ate “husks” from the pig’s
portion.
The
prodigal son suddenly came to himself, realizing his position in his father’s
house as a son.
He
quickly rose up from his position of poverty where he was glad to eat the
“husks” meant for the pigs, returned to his father, and was restored to his
position as a son and heir.
Beloved, you are where you are today suffering
because you have not realized your exalted position in Christ.
Here is the point: As a New Creation you ought to know
what your position has become because you are in Christ. You are where God says you are. God says:
1. You have been crucified with Christ (Gal. 2:20).
2. You died with Christ (Col. 2:20; Rom. 6:8; 2 Cor.
5:14).
3. You were buried with Christ (Col. 2:12; Rom. 6:4).
4. You have been made alive together with Christ (Eph.
2:5; Col. 2:13).
5. You have been raised up together with Christ (Eph. 2:6).
6. You have ascended into the heavens with Christ
(Col. 3:1).
7. You are now seated
together in heavenly places with Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:6).
You were made alive together, raised together, and
made to sit in heavenly places together with Christ Jesus.
When God found you, you were spiritually dead. You were
dead because of the things you did wrong against Him. He wanted you to be alive
and sit with Him on His throne, Heaven. Getting you from the point of death to
a seat in heaven with Him took the work of our Mediator, Jesus Christ (1 Tim.
2:5). He gave you life and then raised you up out of the mess (Ps. 40:2-3), and
gave you a seat with Himself in heaven.
“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust and
lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make
them inherit The Throne of Glory” (1 Sam. 2:8).
This position is far above ALL principality and powers and might and dominion and every name
that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come (Eph.
2:5-6; 1:20-21). This position is a position of victory, a place of the
supernatural, a place of the miraculous, and a place of total security. It is
the highest place in the third heaven.
I challenge you today to come to yourself, realize
your exalted position in Christ, rise up from your position of defeat, where
you are barely existing on the “husks” of religion which is totally devoid of
power, and return to your heavenly Father to claim your position and rights as
a son.
Until you believe that you have also ascended with
Christ and are now seated with Him at a position of ultimate power and
authority, Satan will continue to exercise his power over your life so as to
ensure that he frustrates you out of God’s blessings.
Now that you know your position in Christ, allow this truth
to sink deep down into your sub-conscious mind, believe it and act like it, and
you will be amazed at the results it will produce in your life – the issue of
Inferiority Complex will disappear from your life.
The realization of your exalted position in Christ will
make you more than a conqueror. Talk
about your position in Christ! Think
it! Believe it! And confess it! As you do this, your faith will abound and
you will face life without fear walking in total victory every moment of your
life.
