“Glorious things are said of you, O city of
God” (Ps.
87:3). The City of God appears to be
Heaven’s capital city. It is built around the Throne of God.
It contains what looks like beautiful apartment buildings. A waterfall comes out of one of the buildings.
It contains what looks like beautiful apartment buildings. A waterfall comes out of one of the buildings.
In the City of God, there are
mountains that are about 50,000 feet high, with snow that never melts even
though the temperature is always just right. The base of the mountains is
covered with terraced parks. Here also you will see the Sea of God’s glory, a
mighty ocean. It is crystal clear and seems to have no bottom in place.
There are villages in the countryside
surrounding the City of God. They appear to be hundreds of miles from the
outskirts of the city. These villages are of many different styles, but all are
clean and beautiful, with flowing fountains everywhere. Some buildings here are
suspended in the air thousands of feet above the ground.
Heaven is multilayered. There is a
layer with an atmosphere and thousands of feet of air. And then there is
another layer with an atmosphere and thousands of feet of air. These layers
seem to go on to infinity. However, no matter where you are in Heaven, you can
see the Throne of God, off in the distance. It is the very center of the
universe, the center of all existence. That is where everything began. It
is awesome.
So, today we want to look at “THE THRONE
OF GOD” and the scene in Heaven as you approach this indescribable throne.
After the golden bridge, there is a
white shiny road that is gorgeously adorned with very beautiful flowers on both
sides. This road leads to the biggest and most beautiful mansion in the whole
of Heaven. It is called the Temple or
the Throne Building.
The Throne Building is huge, beyond
the ability of man to understand. The Throne Room of God is the most beautiful
spot in Heaven. It is the biggest building in the whole of Heaven. It appears
to be several hundred miles wide and at least 50 miles tall. It has a domed
roof. There are living statues with flames coming out of them. There are
columns that look as if they are 30 to 35 feet across.
This palatial structure is situated at
the end of this road, in a region where the ground is white and shiny, and
multitudes of flowers could be seen everywhere. It is indescribably wonderful.
As you approach the throne of God the
high praises of God and music grow in intensity and volume; it becomes louder
and louder. You’ll hear sounds of joy and shouting everywhere. At all times in
Heaven, you’ll hear music, and the music is always new. You will hear
continuous praises being lifted in honour and praise to God.
As you move on towards the throne of
God, you’ll see hundreds of people coming from every part of Heaven going to
worship God. As you continue, it will seem as if the hundreds turned into
thousands, and the thousands into an innumerable host. They will appear from
different parts of Heaven. You’ll finally get to the large arena-type area that
Apostle John described.
In another area, you’ll see what
appears to be rooms in a high, arched cathedral. The rooms have arched
entrances that lead into a large area that is totally private. Here, you’ll see
written: THE COVENANT OF JEHOVAH AND THE
REDEEMED OF THE LAMB. And on a beautiful pulpit-like structure, you’ll see
a book that looks like the Bible. It is signed across the front with these
words: “My covenant will I not break. I will not alter the thing that has gone
out of My mouth.” Here you will be reminded of the blood of the Lamb
and the price He paid to redeem you. The book opens by itself and contains
God’s plan for your life.
The third Heaven is where the throne
of God is (Isa. 66:1; Ps. 11:4; Rev. 4:2). There is only glory and might and power especially as you approach God’s
throne.
The closer you get to the Throne of God, the greater are the wonders.
Then you will notice a staircase leading to a platform where the LORD is sitting on His throne.
Then you will notice a staircase leading to a platform where the LORD is sitting on His throne.
He is dressed in pure gold. He wears a golden crown. His golden crown
glistens in the light and His golden robe sparkles and shines.
Everything in Heaven flows into and
out of the Throne. It pulsated like a dynamo. Everything is drawn to the
Throne. Everything circles around the Throne of God.
What
does the throne of God look like? In Revelations 4:1-4 Apostle John
said, “Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same
voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said,
"Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this." 2
And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone
sitting on it. 3 The one sitting on the throne is as brilliant as
gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled His
throne like a rainbow. 4 Twenty-four thrones surrounded Him, and twenty-four
elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their
heads.”
You’ll see a large throne, and
a smaller throne. The LORD’S glistening golden throne stands atop a raised,
oval-shaped platform. Beams of radiant glory streams from the center of the
room where this platform is located.
You’ll see a huge cloud, a mist. Then
you’ll see an image of a Being in the cloud. You can’t see God’s face, but you
can see the glory of God and a rainbow over the throne. The rainbow around the
throne goes in a huge circle form from the floor up to the ceiling and back
around, totally engulfing the throne in radiant, amazing colours. The outermost
band of colour in this rainbow is purple. Next to it is a brilliant sapphire
blue, followed by a gorgeous teal (the widest band).
Sometimes the colours change after
that. At times, the other bands of colour are just like a normal rainbow as
seen on earth. But sometimes, it will be a thin band of emerald green, then
topaz gold and finally the glorious white that emanates from the face of God.
There are other thrones encircling the
throne of God – the thrones of the 24 elders. The voice of God is like the
voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder (Rev. 14:2).
The ray of light coming out from the
throne is brighter than the sun at its full strength. You can’t look into the
throne because of its exceeding brightness. It is dazzling white and sparkles
with diamonds.
Coming out from under the base of the
throne is the River of Life flowing in its beauty and purity. It is beautiful
and looks like a sea of glass. A pure river of the water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeds from the throne of God and of the Lamb. The River of Life flows from the throne of
God and of the Lamb (Rev. 4:6; Rev. 22:1).
In the middle of its street, and on
either side of the River of Life, is the tree of life, which bears twelve
fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month (Rev. 22:2). The saints pass
through the River of Life shouting “Glory
to God!”
Four rivers flow from the Throne of
God. They come out of the glory cloud and wash over the coals from the altar of
God, but do not extinguish them – there is no hissing sound. The rivers come
out as one from the Throne, flowing across the pavement and then continue unto
the areas prepared for them as they become four distinct flowings of water. The
small streams are about half a mile wide. They flow through Heaven and appear
to be bottomless. One of the rivers is the flow of the mercy and grace of God.
God the Father sits on the throne. He
wears a white crown and robe. He has long white hair. The glory of God
overshadows the throne. It seems that lightening, thunder, and voices are all
around the throne.
You’ll see a rainbow arching
above and around the throne, in appearance, like an emerald (Rev. 4:3). Emerald
is a precious stone that is a form of beryl coloured green by chromium. The
brilliant, glorious colours of the rainbow are mixed with light, producing
dazzlingly intense colours. Varied colours of radiant lights signify glory and
power. Blazes of splendor flash from the throne. Beams of glory radiate from
the throne. These illustrious beams that come forth from the throne are filled
with light that is reflected in every part of Paradise.
The throne of God has a rainbow around
it. It is overshadowed with a cloud of glory and the brilliance of the power of
God. You’ll hear voices, see lightening, and hear thunder. You will see the
divine manifestation of the power of God.
The Bible says that there are elders
around the throne (Rev. 4:4). The patriarchs in Heaven are beautiful saints of
God who have died and gone on before us. God has given them eternal life.
Look at God on the Throne. From a
distance, you can tell that there is a BEING
on the Throne. He is covered with a cloud of glory that radiates from Him: an
all-consuming, enfolding fire that is the glory of God Himself. He dwells in a
fire of glory. The fire surrounds the Being on the Throne. The Being on the
Throne is the Almighty God.
A reverential fear falls on everybody
as you get closer and closer to the Throne of God. You will not be able to
stand in His holy Presence.
Thousands upon thousands of people go
in and out. There are millions of people (the redeemed) around the Throne
worshipping God. Most people lie on their faces before God thanking Him for
what He has done for them.
Inside the Throne Room are seven big
pillars. Then there are nine pillars of a substance near to God. These may be
the gifts of the Spirit.
There is also an inner court
surrounded by pillars. There is also a pavement area with millions of people
lying prostrate, some on their backs, all facing the Throne. The pavement is
like the pavement that Jesus stood on, with what seems like a hundred thousand
acres of inlaid jewels. The Throne has a foundation.
Closer to the Throne of God you’ll
notice an area with a railing. There are three levels of railings. Humans are
not allowed beyond them. These railings are made of gold and some other kind of
material that radiates the glory of God, and may be the same as the glory of
God. Angels stand at the railings.
Around this area are stones that are
on fire; living stones shaped like a potato gives off blue and amber Shekinah
Glory. They are from the altar of God and roughly two feet in diameter. On each
of the stones is a name.
The glory God is clothed with radiates
from Him, sounding like millions upon millions of dynamos of surging current.
There is just surge upon surge of power from Him – whoosh, whoosh! These
surges are answers to someone’s prayer.
Then, there is a raised area beyond
this magnificence. There are beings on the throne, and flames goes in and out.
Around the Throne are four
winged creatures that fly around and around saying, “Holy, holy, holy, LORD God
Almighty.” When they declare, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY,” the room shakes with the
power in their words. Smoke, which is the cloud of glory, and fire with
lightening pour out from the throne of God. Each time they fly around the
Throne, they see a different aspect of God, and that is what causes them to keep shouting holy, holy, holy….
.
When those 4
beasts give glory and honour and thanks to Him that is seating on the Throne, the four and twenty elders fall down before
Him that seats on the throne, and worship Him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the
throne, saying, “11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and
power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created” (Rev. 4:9-11).
Along with
the 24 elders, worshipping the Lord is the main occupation of these four living
creatures.
These 4 heavenly creatures are not animals that walk on all four legs. They are
intelligent beings that walk upright like us. They have gossamer garments, and
through them, you see hundreds of eyes looking back at you. Each of them has
six wings which have eyes in all the feathers both on the inside and on the
outside. Every eye moves independent of each other. They are very large and
unlike anything you’ve ever seen on earth.
The first has the face of a lion. The
second has the face of a calf (ox). The third has the face of a man. The fourth
was like a flying eagle.
All these creatures are constantly
crying out, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God
Almighty.” Along with the 24 elders, worshipping the Lord is the main
occupation of these four living creatures (Rev 4:8-11; Rev 5:9-10 – NIV, Rev
5:11-14, Rev 7:11-12; Rev 19:4-6).
Other duties of the four living
creatures include the fact that all of them are extremely intelligent and will
be used during the end time outpouring (Rev. 5:8-10; Rev. 6:1; Rev. 15:6-8).
The most beautiful clouds are
billowing in and around the throne, shaped almost like the mushroom cloud of an
atomic explosion, each cloud being mixed with glory and beautiful colours.
You’ll see a dazzling rainbow arching above all of these. You’ll then see the
image of a man in the clouds that is sitting on that mighty throne.
Thousands of steps lead up to the
Throne. Each step is significant and prophetic. As you ascend the staircase,
you will see hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of people going into and
coming out from the Throne. They are worshipping and praising God.
The closer you get to the Throne of
God, the more magnificent everything becomes. Proximity to the Throne causes
the tangible things in Heaven to become more and more splendid.
The entry or gateway has columns. The
number of columns is also prophetic. There are additional columns that are
tremendously high and look like they are a thousand feet across. They are in
the doorway leading to the Throne of God.
There are millions multiplied by
millions of people prostrating on their faces before the Throne of God, which somehow
faces every direction at the same time. The Throne looks like it is about 25
miles high. From any part of Heaven you can see the Throne of God.
Even from a distance, the angels are
in awe and prostrate themselves before God. The Throne is made out of some
heavenly material. It is crystal clear, yet it consists of what appears to be a
gold, ivory, and silver, and precious gems and jewels – all sparkling. The
Throne gives off what looks like light rays, which comes out of the material it
is made of. Great waves of glory sweep through it, liquid fire going through
the building materials. The building itself gives off rays of glory. The rays
coming from the Throne are too brilliant for the natural eyes.
In front of the Throne is a laver or
basin, filled with then blood of Jesus. Liquid plasma, waves of glory flow out
from the Throne. The hopes and desires of everyone who has ever lived flow into
the Throne. And out of the Throne flows God’s love and the answers to our
prayers.
You will notice that people that are
in Heaven do not necessarily get to see God right away. Sometimes, they have to
wait for a long time.
You’ll also notice waves of liquid
love coming out from God. The fragrance would choke you on earth. But the aroma
of God’s presence is beautiful beyond description.
Out of the glory of God, you’ll see a
puff of smoke that will go by you like a big plane – millions of dynamos.
Angels bring prayers to the Throne.
And in return, they are given the substance of God with an answer. All answers
are designed out of His glory.
When it is time to leave the Throne,
you migrate back to what you are to do. Everyone has a God-designed purpose.
What is the worship of the Creator on
the throne like? In Revelations 4:5-11 Apostle John said, “Out from the throne come flashes
of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the
throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6 and before the throne there was
something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the
throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. 7 The first
creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third
creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying
eagle. 8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are
full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, "HOLY,
HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO
COME." 9 And when the living
creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him
who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him
who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and
will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O
Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were create” (NASU).
When God speaks, it seems that 12 very
large angels, each of them 12 to 15 feet tall, stand in front of the throne
blowing their trumpets. Beautiful jewels adorn the fronts of their garments.
With music and with all the things they do and say, they influence the
atmosphere. They seem to prepare the way for God to speak. You’ll see a thick
cloud enveloping the throne when the LORD speaks or proclaims a message (Rev.
4:5).
Then power will billow out from the
front of the throne. In the midst of the throne, God Almighty dwells in a cloud
of glory. When God speaks, His voice sounds like many waters (Rev. 14:2), but
you’ll understand every word of it. Although the voice of God is like a mighty
roar, it is pleasant.
You’ll hear the multiplied voices of
many angels around the throne. The number of angels there cannot be estimated.
Twelve angels stand ministering before
the throne of God. They are arrayed in garments beyond any worthy description.
On the breastplate of their apparels, they have jewels embedded in their
garments. On their heads they have some kind of heavenly material of glorious
colours. Gold edging adorned their long robes. The blare of the trumpets
announces the saints as they come, one by one, to stand before God. An
inestimable number of saints, angels, and heavenly beings usually make up a
huge gallery. All of them glorify God.
The redeemed of all ages of the Lord
are glorious and beautiful. All around the throne, the angels of God praise His
majesty continually.
You’ll see a cloud of glory filled
with lightening, thunder, and voices. You will then see the hand of God come
out of the cloud and begin to wipe the tears of the saints from their eyes (Rev.
21:4-5).
Then you’ll hear God say to the
assembled saints, “I see that your names are
in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Welcome into the joy of the Lord.” The Lord
then will place magnificent golden crowns on the heads of all His sanctified
ones (Rev. 4:5).
In Heaven you will see angels giving glory to God. Innumerable
company of angels joins the 4 living creatures and the 24 elders in the worship
of God (Rev. 7:1-12).
You’ll see people and angels
everywhere praising God. The River of Life is flowing forth from the throne of
God. It is like a sea of glass, like a sea of crystal, but it is flowing. It is
the water that the Lord Jesus sprinkles on the believers as they come to Him in
prayer everyday (Rev. 22:21; Ezek. 36:25).
You’ll notice the 12 angels standing
before the throne of God having trumpets and musical horns by their sides.
Their flowing, glowing garments are trimmed with gold and embedded with big
rubies and all kinds of immense stones. Suddenly you’ll will see many musical
instruments – harps etc. Firstly there will be a declaration by one on the
angels.
Worship in the Throne Room is not easy
to describe as it involves music and beings that do not exist on this earth.
The Seraphim have blue fire coming from the top of their heads. They fly back
and forth over the top of the Father as He sits on His throne. The Seraphim are
powerful beings involved with the worship and are in close proximity to the one
who sits on the throne.
Many people there create and use
banners and flags to demonstrate their passion for the Father and Jesus Christ.
As they run with the banners across the floor, the image on the banner comes to
life. If the image on the banner is a lion, it begins to roar loudly from the
fabric, or if it is a trumpet or shofars (ram`s horn blown in the Synagogues
during religious festivals), they begin to sound out, worshipping along with
the redeemed! The Glory becomes so rich (intense) and heavy that everyone ends
up on their faces, soaking in the love that comes in waves that come from the
Father`s heart.
How is it on earth when we worship God
in spirit and in truth? On earth, the Seraphims hover over those who minister
to the Lord during worship and release glory upon them.
Our worship on earth is collected and
presented in the Throne Room as incense. The sweet aromas continually fill the
place as we love God with our songs, instruments and dance.
If you could see into the spirit realm
as you worship God in spirit and in truth, you will be amazed. When you dance before
the Lord in worship, the angels come from Heaven and place a `spiritual’ canvas
under your feet. As you continue in the worship, your feet will begin to paint
a masterpiece with your love and when completed, that masterpiece is presented
before the throne of God and then placed in your Praise Gallery. This is a
place with your name on it. It was just made to hold all the things you create
as worship for your God. When you get to Heaven, you’ll enjoy going there to
see the many precious things that God collected from your life as worship to
Him.
When you sing, in the spirit realm,
ribbons of beautiful colour stream from your mouth and these begin to weave a
tapestry which also becomes a masterpiece of love for your God.
The same thing happens when you play
an instrument: it creates a tapestry (a heavy piece of fabric with a woven
pattern or picture) of worship. These tapestries will also be placed in your
Praise Gallery in Heaven.
Our worship becomes a weapon as it
passes right through Satan’s realm (the space above the second heaven) on the way to the Throne
Room. It sends spiritual missiles which do great damage to Satan`s kingdom.
They have to patch and repair a lot when we passionately worship our God. Psalm
149 says that when dance, songs and instruments are done as worship, it binds
the enemy in fetters of iron.
When we do a clap offering to the
Lord, it sends earthquakes through zone of darkness above the second heaven.
And the demons are so terrorized and tormented that they scream in terror. Praise
releases love for our God. It also releases power.
Firstly
there will be a declaration by one of the angels. This declaration is followed
by a call to worship. Then they begin
to eulogize God. This is finally followed by an uninterrupted worship of
the Almighty God.
