Today being
the second Sunday of the year, we are sharing on “2017, MY YEAR OF
BREAKTHROUGH!”
In Isaiah 43:18-19 God said, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 20 …I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen.”
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” Quit focusing on where you failed last year, and start focusing on God’s plan and purpose for your life in the now.
If you continue to remember the former things, you will not be able to embrace the new thing that God wants to do in your life.
That was why Apostle Paul said, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:13-14).
Beloved, God has your future all mapped out. He has incredible blessings in your future with your name on them.
It is glorious! There is victory, glory, increase, promotion, divine health and BREAKTHROUGH in your future (Jer. 29:11).
And this year God will surprise you with His unlimited favour. You can’t even imagine what God has kept in your future.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”
In Psalm 23:6 David said, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
What is the meaning of surely? Surely means “I am confident; I know God is going to surprise me this year. I know God is going to give me a breakthrough this year.”
Do you realize that you wouldn’t be alive now if God has nothing great in your future?
Therefore, I encourage you to embrace 2017 with great expectations because the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off (Prov. 23:18). It is true that your expectations may not have been met in the past. But this time around, it must happen for you.
Therefore,
do not remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. But
focus on the new thing God wants to do in your life this year.
What is the new thing God has promised
to do in your life this year?
It is God’s plan to open the doors that were previously closed against
you so as to release your breakthrough to you.
Jesus
said,
“…behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it …”
(Rev. 3:8).
Just be fully convinced
that God has already gone ahead of you this year to remove every hindrances on
your way to destiny.
God said, “I will
go before thee, and make the crooked places straight…” (Isa. 45:2a).
He has decided to smash
into pieces the gates of brass and cut in sunder the bars of iron that were
locked against you.
God said, “…I will
break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron” (Isa.
45:2b).
Be rest assured that this year God wants to give to
you the treasures of darkness, and the hidden riches of secret places.
God said, “And I
will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places,
that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God
of Israel” (Isa. 45:3).
What is the significance of open doors? Open doors in the Bible signify
opportunities that will cause you to make progress and advance in life.
The
open door can be marked as marriage,
career, ministry, finances, health, or fruit of the womb.
Opportunities
can be lost if a person has an evil
failure device working against him. For instance, some people can never
have more than 200 naira in their bank account. If they happen to be given
200,000.00 naira, all sorts of problems will appear from nowhere to make them
spend the money until it comes down to 200 naira.
This year, every evil failure device programmed to work against you is hereby permanently destroyed, in Jesus’ name.
Listen friend, you are not born to suffer. You are not born to fail. There is a God in Heaven who is ready to help you out of your aching situation. Your situation can change if only you can put all your trust in God.
In John 11:40 Jesus said, “…Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?”
In Isaiah 7:9 God said, “If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.”
2 Chronicles 20:20 says, “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be es tablished; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
Examples of many who received their breakthroughs and whose lives were transformed through trusting God abound in the Scriptures. For instance:
1. Blind Bartimaeus had a breakthrough in his sight
when he came to Jesus (Mk. 10:46-52).
2. The man that was paralyzed from neck to toe
(Mk. 2:1-12).
3. The Centurion had a breakthrough in the
health of his servant when he came to Jesus (Matt. 8:5-13).
4. The woman with the issue of blood had a
breakthrough in her health when she came to Jesus (Mk. 5:25-34).
5. The woman that had a hunchback for 18 years
had a breakthrough in her health when she came to Jesus (Lk. 13:10-17).
6. A certain man with leprosy got a
breakthrough in his health when he came to Jesus (Matt. 8:1-3).
The Bible says that “When
Jesus came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And,
behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt,
thou canst make me clean. 3 And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him,
saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was
cleansed” (Matt. 8:1-3).
Unfortunately many people do not turn to God for help when they are in trouble. Some think that God is too slow for their liking. They prefer short cuts or “quick solutions” to their problem. As a result, they eventually go to wrong places and endanger their destiny in Christ.
Others
who turn to God do not really know what it means to have faith in God. Some
come to God hoping that somehow, God may
answer if they are fortunate enough to get His attention.
But we should
for no reason disbelieve God because with Him nothing shall be impossible (Lk.
1:37). He is able to do ALL things. He is Jehovah Overdo.
The
Bible says, “Now unto Him that is ABLE TO DO exceeding abundantly above
all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us….”
(Eph. 3:20).
For instance,
Abraham was fully persuaded that God is able to do whatsoever He has promised
you.
Romans
4:17-22 says, “As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before Him
whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things
which be not as though they were. 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he
might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, so
shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own
body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness
of Sara's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but
was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that,
what He had promised, He was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was
imputed to him for righteousness.”
You too,
like Abraham, ought to be totally convinced that you will receive your
breakthrough whenever you come to God for help in the name of Jesus.
Notice that one thing was common to all that needed
a breakthrough: Each one of them came
to Jesus in faith.
Why to Jesus? This is
because Jesus is the only solution to your problems.
The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation
in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we MUST be saved” (Acts 4:12).
