Today we start a 21 days Revival Meeting on BONDAGE & DELIVERANCE.
Many Christians are in bondage. And until they are
free from this bondage, they will never be able to obtain God’s best for their
lives on this earth. They could even miss Heaven because of the terrible
frustrations that accompany bondage.
They are captives of the devil. How did such Christians become captives of the devil?
In Isaiah 5:13 God said, “Therefore, My people are gone
into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men
are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”
In Hosea 4:6 God said, “My people are destroyed
for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject
thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of
thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
In John 8:32 Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and
the truth shall MAKE you free.”
In John 8:36 Jesus said, “If the Son therefore shall make
you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
The truth is that many people have problems in their
lives and they sincerely desire to come out of it, but they don’t know how to
get about it. For instance:
- Why is it that in a school of many students, some are succeeding without much effort, but others struggle so hard only to fail at the end? There is nothing wrong with the school. There is nothing wrong with the teachers. This is an error!
- Why is it that two people with the same kind of business may be in the same market, one is making so much money that they are buying assorted kinds of vehicles and building houses while the other is borrowing and borrowing? No one comes to buy from him. Every investment made is shipwrecked. There is nothing wrong with the market. There is nothing wrong with your line of business. This is an error!
- Why is it that in a situation where there are two ladies, one is really charming, charismatic, elegant, figure eight, and well behaved, but no one is saying how far? The other lady is actually ugly, with K-legs, with the figure of a man, as round as a football, with very broad chest, big burst and tiny hips. But people quickly come and marry her leaving the one that is really beautiful and charming. Why? It ought to have been the other way round. This is an error!
- Why is it that you have very rich relations but no one is responding to your needs? They ignore you and instead they help outsiders. That is a mark of disfavour. It is a covering cast. This is an error!
- Why is it that you experience repeated, periodic, or chronic sickness or weakness of the body not necessarily due to hard work during the day? This is an error!
- Why is it that your daughters or sisters marry, divorce, and come home to stay?
- Why is it that your marriage is broken down and you are divorced or separated? In reality your marriage is not fulfilling the things you expect in marriage? Your spouse nauseates you right now.
- Why is it that you experience continual financial insufficiency in spite of your sufficient income? You do pay your tithes, give offerings and support the work of God, yet you suffer from severe lack. Why?
- Why is it that you do experience accidents often?
- Why is your family plagued with mental illness, suicide, alcoholism, incest, divorce, abject poverty and premature deaths?
- Why is it that you do experience disturbed sleep at night? You experience nightmares!
- Why is it that you have a chronic ailment that does not respond to medical treatment or prayer?
- Why is it that you experience reaching a certain level of achievement in life, and have all the required qualifications for success, yet something you can’t explain goes wrong somewhere and you start all over again? You experience this in your business, studies, career, personal relationship with people, finance and even health.
- Why is it that your family is strife-torn?
- Why it is that in spite of your beauty, education and lucrative placement, no one agrees to marry you?
- Why is it that you do have repeated failures in engagement, marriages, academics and career?
- Why is it that things don’t just go well with you no matter how hard you try? You experience setbacks in your life pursuits.
- Why do people in your family die prematurely no matter how well they feed or how medically well maintained they are?
- Why is it that your situation has remained the same in spite of the fact that you have cried, waited on the Lord, studied the Word of God, memorized the Word of God, confessed the Word of God, and you have prayed even in the Holy Ghost?
In the Old Testament Jesus said, “The Spirit of the LORD God is
upon Me; because the Lord hath anointed Me (1) to preach good tidings unto the
meek; (2) He hath sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, (3) to proclaim
liberty to the captives, and (4) the opening of the prison to them that are
bound; (5) 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and THE DAY OF
VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD; (6) to comfort all that mourn;
(7) 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give
unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise
for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified” (Isa 61:1-3).
In the New Testament Jesus said, “The Spirit of the LORD is upon
Me, because He hath anointed Me (1) to preach the Gospel to the poor; (2) He
hath sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, (3) to preach deliverance to
the captives, and (4) recovering of sight to the blind, (5) to set at liberty
them that are bruised, (6)19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord”
(Lk. 4:18-19).
Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”
If you are Born Again you are a seed of Abraham, and
an heir to the promise of God’s blessing (Gal. 3:29). And if you are a seed of
Abraham, then “the blessing” is upon
your life. You are not going to be [get] blessed, because God says that you are
already blessed.
Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as His divine power
hath given unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”
But,
until the enemy [the source of your problem] is dealt with in your life,
there will be no free flow of God’s blessings to you.
You
will see the will of God for your life, but between you and that promise is a
mighty obstacle. This is a covering
cast put there by the devil just to frustrate you out of God’s blessings. This shall be destroyed in
your life today by the reason of the anointing, in the name of Jesus.
In
Isaiah 10:27 the Scriptures say, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that
his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy
neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
What is a covering cast? It is that which is responsible for
all the setbacks [hindrances] you may be experiencing right now in your life.
It is a mark of disfavour that the devil has placed on you so as to frustrate
you out of God’s blessings. When the devil gains entry into your life, he
injects poison into you. This poison is the covering cast. Its effects include
hindrances of various types, sicknesses, failures etc.
Beloved, why suffer and die in silence? Once the
spiritual power behind a particular problem in your life is dealt with, the
physical signs will naturally disappear. When you remove the spider, there will
be no more cobwebs.
In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus has given an open invitation
to all saying, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am
meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For My yoke
is easy, and My burden is light.”
Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we MUST
be saved.”
1 Timothy 2:5-6 says, “For there is one God, and one
mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave Himself a
ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
The
desire of heaven is to ensure your full liberty and increase. God will destroy,
upon this mountain, all the covering casts, all the marks of disfavor that have
been hindering you from possessing those things that rightfully belong to you.
Hallelujah!

WHAT IS DELIVERANCE? (Day 2)
Deliverance is not:
- Seeing wrong visions for people and telling them what to bring to you so as to obtain their freedom.
- Bathing people in the water by 12.00 midnight, 3 or 6 am.
- Making sacrifices at the road junction, streams, rivers or even forest.
- Drinking holy water, wearing beads and amulets all over the body.
- Lighting candles in one’s inner chamber to make invocations, enchantments and divinations.
- Turning the Bible seven times and opening to a certain page.
- Using the sixth and seventh books of Moses, psalms, candles, special soaps, sponge and perfumes.
- Visiting the mountains, rivers, deserts, holy grounds, angel fields, grave yards, road junctions and forests to pray.
- Praying to angels, saints and other intermediaries.
- Making sacrifices in stipulated places with goats, cows, rams, chickens, and ravens.
- Making saraka for children.
- Appeasing demons and evil spirits with the blood of animals.
WHAT THEN IS DELIVERANCE?
1. Deliverance is the process of casting out demons and evil spirits
that harass, suppress, depress, afflict and contaminate people, families, businesses,
institutions and society.
2. Deliverance is liberation from bondage.
What is bondage?
a)
Bondage is slavery or involuntary servitude
(compulsory service or labour as a punishment for a criminal).
b)
Bondage is the state of being bound by or subjected to
some external power or control.
c)
Bondage is the state or practice of being physically
restrained, as being tied up, chained or put in handcuffs
3. Deliverance is the method of setting the captives free and helping
them to become more like Jesus, living in the liberty that Christ has provided
(Lk. 4:18-19).
In Luke 4:18-19 Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because
He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal
the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of
sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord.”
Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”
4. Deliverance is a method of cleansing the captive from all sorts of
demonic contamination. By so doing, the saint is released to obtain without
hindrances all that Christ died to give us (Eph. 1:3; 2 Pet. 1:3).
5. Deliverance prepares the saint for the rapture as we wait for the
trumpet to sound (Eph. 5:25-27).
Ephesians 5:26-27 says, “That He might sanctify and cleanse it with
the washing of water by the Word, 27 That He might present it to Himself a
glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it
should be holy and without blemish.”
6. Deliverance is the process of restoring all that Satan has stolen
from your life (1 Jn. 3:8; Jn. 10:10; Joel 2:25-27).
1 John 3:8 says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for
the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
In John 10:10 Jesus said, “The thief cometh not, but for to
steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly.”
7. The process of redeeming the captive from the curse and dangerous
covenants.

WHO NEEDS DELIVERANCE? (Day 3)
Does a Christian really need deliverance? Yes, every
Christian needs deliverance. Realize that deliverance is not meant for unbelievers but for believers.
When
Lazarus came back to life, those limitations were a great puzzle to him because
they were not there before he died. But Jesus said, “Loose him, let him go.”
In John 11:34-44 Jesus said, “Where have ye laid him? They
said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then said the Jews, Behold
how he loved him! 37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened
the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? 38
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave,
and a stone lay upon it. 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the
sister of him that was dead, saith unto Him, Lord, by this time he stinketh:
for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee,
that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then
they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus
lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42
And I knew that thou hearest Me always: but because of the people which stand
by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent Me. 43 And when he thus
had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was
dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound
about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
In
the same way, there are a lot of things happening in your life today that you
do not have any idea of how they came upon you. Even the doctors cannot help
you. They can’t because your problem is not physical but spiritual and as such
it can only be handled spiritually.
And you say, “LORD,
I am Born Again; I have totally surrendered my life to you. But why is it that
I cannot enjoy total prosperity?”
But today beloved, you’ll sing a new song! That
sickness in your life, the debt, that failure, that negative situation in your
life does not glorify God, but it’s an opportunity for God to be glorified. In
your situation, God will be glorified today.
Here are some examples of the fact that every Christian needs
deliverance:
- Realize that a believer can receive another spirit (2 Cor. 11:3-4).
2 Corinthians 11:3-5 says, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the
serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received,
or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
- A believer can depart from the faith (1 Tim. 4:1-3).
1 Timothy 4:1-3 says, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in
the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God
hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know
the truth.”
- Healing [deliverance] is children’s bread (Mk. 7:25-30).
Mark 7:25-30 says, “For a certain woman, whose young daughter
had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought
him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is
not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the
table eat of the children's crumbs.
29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone
out of thy daughter.
30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and
her daughter laid upon the bed.”
- The daughter of Abraham that had a hunchback was a believer (Lk. 13:11-17).
Luke 13:11-17 says, “And, behold, there was a woman which had a
spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no
wise lift up herself.
12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her,
Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight,
and glorified God.
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because
that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are
six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and
not on the sabbath day.
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each
one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him
away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom
Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the
sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed:
and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.”
- Ananias and Sapphira that lied to the Holy Ghost were believers (Acts 5:3-4).
In Acts 5:3-4 Peter said, “Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart
to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was
it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart?
Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”
- The Galatians that were bewitched by spirits were believers (Gal. 3:1).
Galatians 3:1 says, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you,
that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you?”
- Judas that betrayed Jesus Christ was a believer (Lk. 22:3).
Luke 22:3 says, “Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed
Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.”
- Simon was a believer (Acts 8:20-24).
In Acts 8:20-24 Peter said unto him, “Thy money perish with thee,
because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in
the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the
thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23 For I perceive that thou art in
the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. 24 Then answered Simon,
and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have
spoken come upon me.”
- The man in the Synagogue was a believer (Mk.1:23-27).
- Afflictions in the brethren. It is Satan that causes afflictions (1 Pet. 5:8-9).
- Jesus called Peter Satan (Mk. 8:33).
- Believer’s son (Mk. 9:17-29).
- The spirit of fever is a demon (Lk. 4:38-39).
- Gave heed to the things Christ said (Acts 8:5-7, 13).
- Sickness is the oppression of Satan (Acts 10:38).
- A believer in Corinth was delivered to Christ (1 Cor. 5:1-5).
- Satan got the advantage of a believer (2 Cor. 2:10-11).
- Paul had a messenger of Satan in his flesh (2 Cor. 12:7-9).
- Satan can influence a believer (Eph. 2:1-3).
- Anger gives place to the devil (Eph. 4:26-27).
- Hymeneaus and Alexander were believers (1 Tim. 1:18-20).
- Recover out of the snares of the devil (2 Tim. 2:24-26).
- The root of bitterness is a spirit (Heb. 12:15-16).
- The devil can flee from you (Jam. 4:6-8).
- Jesus cast out demons in Synagogues (Mk. 1:39-41).
