The question is not, “Do you go to church?” It is not,
“Is your name in the church register?” It is not, “Are you a member of any
denomination?” The question is, “Are you really saved? Do you have a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ?” Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?”
Everyone needs to be saved because until you are
saved, you are not safe. God has a plan for your life.
He said, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer. 29:11).
He said, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer. 29:11).
1. What is
God’s purpose for man? God’s plan for you is to have peace and real life
right now in this world, and in the life to come everlasting life. God loves
you and wants you to know Him personally so He can fill you with peace and give
you a life that will never end.
The Bible says, “Because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live
at peace with God the Father” (Rom. 5:1).
Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16).
Jesus said, “…I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly” (Jn. 10:10).
Since
God planned for us to have peace and real life right now, why are so many
people hurting or angry inside?
2.
This is because man has a problem. What
is that problem? – Separation from God. God created us in His own image so
we can know Him personally and have a joy-filled life. He did not make us as
robots to automatically love and obey Him, but gave us a will and a freedom of
choice. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our
own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation
from God and ends in misery.
The
Bible says, “All have sinned and come short of God’s holiness” (Rom. 3:23).
“The
result of unforgiven sin is death. But God's gift is eternal life given by
Jesus Christ our Lord”
(Rom. 6:23).
The Bible says that disobeying God results in being
separated from Him. Our
own efforts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried
many ways to bridge this gap and reach God, but without success.
“Adam
sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and
so everyone must die”
(Rom. 5:12).
“You
may think you are on the right road and still end up dead” (Prov. 14:12).
3. God stepped into the hopeless situation and provided
a remedy. What is this remedy? - The Cross. There
is only one way to reach God the Father. Jesus Christ is the only answer
to this problem.
He is the only One who can bring us back to God. He died on the Cross and rose
from the grave, paying the penalty for our sins in full and bridging the gap
between God and man.
Jesus said, “I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (Jn. 14:6).
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be
saved” (Acts 4:12).
The Bible says, “There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only One who can
bring us to God the Father” (1 Tim. 2:5).
“Christ died once for our sins.
An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Christ did this to bring you
to God the Father” (1 Pet. 3:18).
“But God the Father showed how
much He loved us by having Christ His only begotten Son, die for us, even
though we were sinful”
(Rom. 5:8).
God
has provided THE ONLY WAY - you must make the choice.
4. What then is your personal response? Your
response should be to give yourself completely to Christ. You must trust Jesus Christ to
forgive your sins and determine to obey Him for the rest of your life. That way,
you can know God the Father and find peace again. Is there any good reason why you cannot turn your life over to Jesus
Christ right now?
Decision: If you have decided to give your life to Jesus
Christ, pray the following prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the
name of Jesus Christ. You said in Your Word,
“…If I shall confess with my mouth
the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, I
SHALL BE SAVED” (Rom. 10:9).
I believe in my heart that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God. And I believe that He was raised from the dead for my
justification.
Father, You also said in Your Word, “…with
the HEART (spirit-man) man believeth unto righteousness, and with the MOUTH
confession is made unto salvation” (Rom. 10:10).
I believe in my heart,
and with my mouth I confess Jesus Christ now as my Lord and Saviour. Therefore,
I am saved! Thank You righteous Father, in Jesus’ name.
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely from your
heart, then the Bible says that you are saved. To grow in your new Christian
life, it is important that you study the Bible, and pray every day to our
Heavenly Father. You also need to belong to a Bible-based church where you will
be taught the undiluted Word of God that will renew your mind and transform you
into the very image of Christ.
